oh well, glad I didnt waste my time going, the city muster is always a crap event, and from what i've heard this year was more crap then in the past... I seriously wonder why people bother to go to these RIP-OFF boring, and just $h!t events??

And who said it was only for country people? I didnt realise it was completely exclusive. Silly me, I thought if someone liked country music they would be entitled to go.

Maybe people go because for $65 being able to see the sunny cowgirls, beccy cole, gina jefferies, sara storer, troy casser-daly and lee k is a bit of a bargain.

thats not what I mean, what I'm getting at, is you are not allowed to bring in alcahol, insted they want to charge near on $10 for a bundy, the ute show sucks and is completely rigged, and these days people are not attending these shows for the love of their ute, they would rather go just for the sake of going and causing trouble and acting like complete dickheads, while getting smashed off their faces, that is not what the "ute scene" is about, and I for one have had enough of the attitudes bictchin backstabbing lying, and utter BULLSHIT that "het people' love to spin, and for some reason it seens to all manifest itself more at this crappy event every year then any where else.... I HAVE ALMOST HAD A GUTS FULL OF BLOODY UTE PEOPLE

it was my first year and have to say the only good thing was being in the shade oh and got to meet more ute nuts and get a pic with the sunny cowgirls. Whats with locking us in the pavillion like were gonna infect people outside though, thet really need to orginize some entertainment during the days so there are things for us to see and stuff for spectators to see and do, so they can have a crowd all day and not let them in the door towards the end and then usher them alll out like cattle not long after and 3.50 for a coke ya can buy 2ltrs for that i did have fun but really an event the size of the city muster and a ute show called the Bunderberg Rum Beaut Ute Show should be really well orginized and a premeir event but the country towns put on way better shows maybe they should of handed out suggestion sheets for next year.

Firstly the City Muster did not start out as a ute show! The original idea was to bring country music to the city for all those, as you like to call them "hat people" who live in the city and still love country music and what it is about. The City Muster has nothing to do with the "ute scene". If you are going for only a ute show, the City Muster is the wrong event for you. You are far better off to attend Boyup (also a must for country music lovers) or one of the many smaller country ute musters. However, if you are going for the love of country music and to see and support some fantastic Aussie artists at a fantastic value for money event then the City Muster is the one for you. As for bitching and whinging about the cost of Bundy or any other drink at these shows and at not being able to BYO, well they are licensed venues! You would not expect to take your own into a pub so why should you think you can BYO to any other licensed venue. Learn your Liquor Licensing Act if you have a problem with this! These venues have the right to charge what ever they want to make money, if you all seriously have a problem with them charging these prices then take a stand to get them to lower the alcohol prices at future events - DON'T DRINK. BOYCOTT THE BARS & THE ALCOHOL. If people continue to pay the prices they will continue to charge them. And yes I do take offence at being called a "hat person" and "city slicker" as I constantly hear on these posts. I have been listening to and attending country music events longer than the majority of those who like to label me have been alive. I choose to wear a hat, and yes RM Williams jeans because I work bloody hard for my money and I happen to like them and I have been wearing all this gear since long before it became a fashion statement that only the younger country people think they are entitled to wear. Yes I live in the city, born and bred, but that doesn't make me narrow minded or uneducated to the fact that there is more to this great country and world than just my narrow little place that I live in. Open your eyes and your minds people to the world that goes on around you and you may find that there is a lot more to life and people. You get back from people the attitude that you put out. Karma is a bitch!

Olly, the price of rum at the city muster is the exact same as it is at the obh and other licenced premises. And of course they're not going to let you bring alcohol in, that would be like taking a 6-pack into ur local. Dont be bloody rediculous.

If u've had a gutsfull of ute people, righto fair enough, each to their own, dont read threads about city muster, or events ur not going to, if ur sick of it, dont go to ute musters or shows, or events like city muster, or boyup, or anything else where peoples attitudes might affect u so severely as they seem to do.
Yes in the country scene there are some dicks, one I can think of more than anyone, and a lot of girls agree with me on this bloke, but he isnt in the ute scene. I think you might find there's dicks in every category of people... If ur open enough to be able to see past ur pre-conceived notions.
While I steer clear of ute shows/musters because its not my thing, I dont go around slagging them off at every chance I get, I wont ruin organisers hard efforts by saying its all shit and rigged.

Olly, can you answer me this... Do you go up to each and every person whos drunk and mucking around with their mates (or as you put it so eloquently, "causing trouble and acting like complete dickheads") and ask where they're from, where they grew up and where they live now before u judge and label them as city slickers? Or do u just assume?
