Question WA BNS Entertainment

I was reading through some of the Eastern States BNS threads and saw one being held in March 08
Featuring Lee Forster, Travis Sinclair and Steve Eales (and their full bands)
Also Ive seen other BNS's getting the Sunny Cowgirls and so on.

This leads me to ask...Why doesnt WA get any leading acts for our BNS's?

Re: WA BNS Entertainment

Probably because of the cost Kel....we are organising a new bns in WA for next year and the layout costs of running a bns are quite large. Big name acts have big time fees usually...if we do well for our first we would be looking at bigger name artists for the 2nd one for sure. Would be great to get some Australian country guys up on stage for a WA bns!!!

Kelly,

I have Lee Forster playing after the Garden Island Ute Muster ... is that not good enough ... cheap grog... surely that is a big attraction.

Re: WA BNS Entertainment

But a ute muster is not a b&s. I have to say, going to a b&s with the Sunny Cowgirls playing then coming back for a WA bns, theres a huge difference.

Re: WA BNS Entertainment

I don't know if to really comment on this one as I have not yet been to a ute muster or a B&S, but I thought i'd put my 2 bobs worth in.
The cost involved in getting Lee Forster, Travis Sinclair and Steve Eales (and their full bands) would be huge.
I take my hat off to you Billy, organising everything for the Garden Island ute muster & getting Lee Forster is huge in itself. (have you seen how sexy his chest is?... boom chicka wow wow!!!) All my panting aside lol, its people like Billy who organise these events that keep people/clubs together. A top effort all round, Hope it all still goes ahead.

Of course thats awesome Billy...but have you been to a WA BNS lately? Im embarrassed to admit that the band at the last BNS inspired me and the crew I was camping with to go to bed at 10.30pm haha, had more fun back at our utes.
I always enjoy a good concert, but being able to fully cut sick as you watch them is another experience. You know Im looking forward to Garden Island. Ive organised a beach shack for after. But I do have to stay sober so I can drive my ute out after the concert. Which is fine, but the point is, there is a huge difference between an average band and a great band. No disrespect to anyone.

Re: WA BNS Entertainment

Unfortunetely, i think that even with the big name bands as such dont always make a BNS but the carpark i must say you can have a lot more fun these days especially back east. The cost involved in gaining the services of these players is quite large and you make the most of them none the less. I for one will make the most af any BNS or ute muster, the car park, the bands the catching up with friends i havent seen for months.. Its what we do!!

Re: WA BNS Entertainment

I agree. I love meeting new people, catching up with old mates and just having fun. i just wondered why we couldnt get them. Some people are prepared to travel great distances for a good party haha. Im talking interstate. I can appreciate these big names have big price tags. I guess Im wondering how the East can do it or is it a case of spend more to make more then they get bigger?

Re: WA BNS Entertainment

I think that the eastern states have a lot better access to the bands and the likes, even though they tour over here at times they do the east side a lot more because there is ( i hate to say it ) 75% of our population over there and a lot more access to venues and people

Re: WA BNS Entertainment

A way back Melzy and I were organising a BNS for the Goldfields - was gonna be held early next year, and we had the Sunny Cowgirls lined up for that ... but after dealing with "other" issues we gave up on planning it. Was gonna be a blast - but sometimes it's a bit about who you know and of course the money as well to get big acts in.

And yeah Billy has done a cracking job to
