stationhand.net supports The Victorian Ute Standards Forum, which aims to make Ute Shows fair and consistant by devloping a 'Standard'.
Giving all ute owners a chance to discuss categorys, criteria, show rules and other issues we can help commitees to host enjoyable and successful events.

sounds like a great idea. would save a lot of bitchin about what class certain utes should be in at shows.

good intention but that isnt where the problem lies. ute show oganises will NOT refuse you entry into categories from fear of back lash.

and half the shows have organisers that get mates to judge and then alow their mates or mates' partner to enter a their ute into the show, and the ring of crap continues. dont bother trying to change something that cant be changed.

its been tried before and it'll be tried again...... its a dead topic.

This is something that I have worked on trying to do myself, I have forms done up listing each thing etc that several ute show committees have accepted and introduced into their shows. I am more than happy to post them here or on the other site if anyone is interested.

The forum is designed to be an opportunity for people to raise these kinds of issues and have them discussed and perhaps to reach a conclusion which can be included as a rule in the standard. While no organiser or event will be forced to use the rules they will be available as a reference for anyone who wants to adopt them.

There is no harm in discussing these things whether it resolves anything or not, maybe it will help to reduce some of the nagativity that goes on during shows.

Not sure of this comment but hey if someone wants to enter a street ute into a feral ute category then good luck to them, it just means more money for the committee.

My belief is that if people don't try and make changes, changes won't happen.

Sometimes it's a slow hard battle, but we should all be prepared to speak out about things that need change.
