Rules of the Competition 1. Organisers of the Ute competition will be ineligible to enter. 2. Ute owners must have filled out the entry form prior to judging. 3. All utes must have the entry ticket displayed on the dashboard or underneath the windscreen wiper for judges’ viewing. 4. Ute owners will be eligible to enter in any category, with the exception of Chick’s ute, where the owner of the ute must be female. 5. The competition categories will be judged on the following: Catergories for 2008 Ute Comp Best 4x4 Best B&S pre 89 Best B&S post 89 Best Chicks Ute. Best Feral Ute Best Town Ute pre 89. Best Town Ute post 89. Best Non Australian Ute. Best Ford. Best Holden. Best Trade Ute. Most Working Aerials. Most Stickers. Best Dog & Ute. Most Flags. Peoples Choice. 6. STRICTLY NO CIRCLEWORK OR RECKLESS DRIVING!!! 7. Prize winners will be announced on the day of the show, at approximately 4.00pm Vehicles are entered at owners risk. No responsibility will be taken for loss or damage to vehicles. 8. NO UNREGISTERED UNROADWORTHY VEHICLES ARE PERMITTED TO ENTER THE FESTIVAL. About the Wandong Ute Comp: The idea of a ute show in Wandong was first put forward in 2001, after a few Wandong locals suggested we incorporate it with the Wandong Country Music Festival to allow them to show their utes without having to travel long distances to other shows. A sub committee of the Country Music festival was formed and the Wandong Ute show was born. In more recent times, the ute show is being run by the Wandong Rural Fire Brigade in conjunction with the Country Music Festival. The Ute Show has been running successfully for the past six years, with entrants from as far away as Queensland. The first show held in 2002 had 22 utes being entered. This more than doubled in 2003 with 43 Utes entering, and the 2004 show having 67 entrants and each year since, still more entrants. Every year has been a learning process, and the show is constantly 'fine tuned' to improve how it runs. Entrants are eligible to enter in 15 categories, which have always been hotly contested. Prizes have been donated mostly by local businesses, and there is always the possibility of taking out the people's choice award, a great honor indeed. The 2007 Wandong ute show was well attended with 70 utes turning up for the occasion.
