Supporting Black Saturday bushfire victims and the 1st Epping Scout troop

There will be a sausage sizzle and drinks for sale as well as awesome raffle.

Sam, the ribbon supplier from last year had serious action taken against them for not supplying the ribbons until seven weeks after the event and had to pay for the ribbons out of their own pocket as well as make a sizeable donation to the nominated charity. As you can also see, we are holding this years event in a different location in another council as our council gave us absolutely nothing as far as facilities went. These were the only issues we had last year and they are 100% taken care of so there is no need to stress this time around.
I do not make a single cent of profit from any event I run as they are always run to raise money for charity. My family members and the family members of the event judges and sponsors are not allowed to enter this event - this is the only ute show in Victoria that has such a policy.
At the end of the day I am not running this show to satisfy my own ego or to furnish the ego's of my mates or relatives. It is purely and simply to raise funds for the nominated charities. There are many families left without homes or possessions after the Black Saturday bushfires which devastated nearby communities, including many of my friends and family members and the only way I can help out is to raise some funds to go towards helping them rebuild as well as donate as many books, toys, clothes and other items as possible. The show is also donating $5 per entrant to the 1st Epping Scout Troop who are desperately trying to raise $1300 per child so that they can all go to the 2010 Scout jamboree. Those of us with kids of our own know only full well how hard it is to save up any money at all with the way the world financial crisis is hitting and I am only too happy to help these great young boys and girls achieve what could be a once in a lifetime experience.

I dont have anything against what you are doing or i wouldnt go to ute shows ash the money from Korumburra went to the red cross bushfire appeal.

If you had a problem with getting the ribbons out of you supplier then thats fair enough you can give em a kick in the rear for me to then.

We know to well about people Who get put down or people who say things about ute show orgainzers and as a ute show orgainizer myself i hate it to. Louise has just gone through a rough patch with a person giving her a hard time over her ute. where she parks at work an elderly person has writen a letter to the local newspaper condeming her as louise parks her ute in a public car park some what out of the way but still close as she often has to cart boxes in it to and from work and have stated that it shouldnt be parked there as it advertises a business when it in fact advertisees the magdalene foundation which her family run in memory of her sister.

Hey Everyone,

We now have signed cd's and posters from country stars Talia Wittmann, Dianna Corcoran and Eightball Aitken to put into the prize packs and for the raffle. We also have some goodies coming from Travis Collins and are negotiating with Lee Kernaghan and Beccy Cole's management to get some stuff from them as well. There will also be plenty of good stuff from our other sponsors for the prize packs and raffle.

The big news for the day is that we will be taking photo's for Outback Magazine's 2009 Utes Annual, so if you want to get your ute in, send me an email with a pic of your ute and some details to midnightrun@live.com.au
