| Re: side skirts and side lights, Well you were obviously too low. And its up to the officers discrestion as to the sharpness. And yes the lights are illegal in those colurs mate. Just live with it and dont get caught or put them on and take the chance. Cheers Dan

| Re: side skirts and side lights, 1... cant have any shapr protuding objects, (eg: side skirt sticks out, old lady walks past and hit her leg on it, leg falls off...) 2... lowest part of the car has to be above 100mm claearnace /marker lights.... white/yellow/amber foward facing. amber on sides (foward facing) red on sides (rear facing) red on the rear. vic roads have pretty much all the info on there website you just have to spend the time reading threw it all (there all pdf files) if your car is legit to them, print them out and keep them in your glove box, then if a orificer has an issue, rip them out. | |

![]() | Re: side skirts and side lights, Yeah whats been said is pretty much it! Height has to be 100mm and retain 2/3's (i think it is) of your suspension travel. Sharp edges is a no no ( i got done for it too). Lights - yeah what bryceboy said. What are the restrictions on skirts and lights suposed to be??

| Re: side skirts and side lights, sedans and utes are the same vehicle. tonners are the only ones that could be classed as LR depending on their application. on all vehicles not wider then 2.1m can have opptional side lights, rear and front lights ra ra ra providing they meet the specs provided by vic roads. as was said before, print the info straight off vicroads site. if a copper continues with the defect after you show him the vic roads stuff, take down his badge number, the date and time and his rego and report him to his supervisor on your way home. and chances are the defect will be taken off and he'll be behind a desk for 6 weeks. been thru it with a copper before, if your vehicle complies with the specs DONT roll over for coppers cos they'll just continue doing it. i suggest every one reads up on the laws of what they're doing. because coppers just love genious's that do these things and dont have the slightest clue wat the laws are!!!!. | |

They are not meant to be used to make what ever pretty christmas tree you want. Stick to the law and it will leave you alone. replacing side marker lamps isn't that hard nor expensive as this link shows. There are some good packs for $100 with 10 LED marker lights amber/red. LED TRAILER LIGHTS, LED MARKERS, LED CLEARANCE LAMPS, LED LIGHTS On the note of side lights, I have noticed quite a few cars that have amber side lights from factory and these are brand spanking new cars. Can't recall makes but they are there and in numbers. i wonder whether they are illegal in Vic? ![]() Also have side skirts but get them boxed at the ends to avoid any sharp edges. ie. folded in them down and then under with each fold about 10mm apart. would look better too.

Rep Power: 4 ![]() | Re: side skirts and side lights, just be careful when buying marker light as they also have to be A.D.R aprouved and they have to be places evenly apart and in the correct patterns (white, amber must be forward facing and red rear facing) side skirts are legal provideing there are end plates at both end and are made from the same product as the skirt. if unsure ask the pit inspector for the A.D.R regulations as they CANNOT argue with them and nether can the police |
