Hey guys and gals how are you i am looking at getting a ute for when i get my P's and i would like some suggestions on makes and modles and if you have had any bad experiences could you let me know cheers guys.

Yeh depends on how much you wanna spend and whether you want a ford or holden or other.

Depends on what you like!!
I would personally start with a late model second hand ute.
There is no money in buying a brand new ute. Trust me, I know.

Yeah it might feel good to own a new one, but you loose at least $5k to 10k as soon as you turn the key and drive it away. And you can buy the "New Car Smell" In a bottle these days anyway.
You can pick up a cheap BA at auctions for 18-20 grand, depending on what you want, but watch those auctions, you can get some rooted cars there.
XH Falcons go for between $5-12k depending on the year, you can tinker with them quite easily too. Engine parts can be sourced cheaply if required ie- Cams, Extractors, Second Hand Parts.
www.redbook.com.au has a good range of used car prices on there. Most of the dealers use this as a guide, so check it out.
I started in my XH, and then upgraded to the BA.
My BA Hasn't missed a beat. But there will always be one lemon out there waiting to roll off the showroom floor.
Test Drive the vehicle you want to buy, and once bought, make sure if you have any questions, ask the Service Department.
Don't forget about new car warranty either. Any modification you make can void your warranty in certain area's of the car, so always check before doing anything at all, as they are very choosey these days with repairs under warranty.

I was also thinging there is a suziki mighty boy in my area for 2,200 and cause i work at Auto One i could have it all done up the way i want it for under 5,000
