Re: FORD PROBLEMS

My steering rack came loose, started clunking from lock to lock, so they recalled it, and repaired it. Not a drama now.

Re: FORD PROBLEMS

There was a shim fitted in the BA for that noise, stainless between the alloy rack housing and crossmember as the alloy housings make that noise when they move against each other.

Don't start the Ford bashing here.
This is a thread for problems with Ford cars, not to voice your personal opinion on which is the better car.

Cheers

Re: FORD PROBLEMS

Those door handles, geez what a shocker! I still had drama's with mine on the old XH too...
Also the in the XH's, and probably EA-EL, the door hinges seem to "Drop" for some reason. You can buy kits off ebay to fix this.

Re: FORD PROBLEMS

We had an XE Wagon, at one stage we only had one door handle! Bloody unreal! Warranty claims on those would have been right up there with the best!!!

Does your ute idle ok, or does it always seem a bit rough?
I had that problem with mine. I found out it was the spark plug lead holder on the head of the engine, it was too tight, which was crimping the lead together! Was running on 5 cyl there for a while!
