Rep Power: 5 ![]() | Re: HOLDEN PROBLEMS Only issue I have had with 3 holden utes is that sometimes the electricals have issues. On both VS utes I had.. the coil packs decided to give up the ghost. Other than that.. did many many 1000's of km's in both.. all very nice. As for the current toy.. VY SS. .the only issues I have had have been the Holden Dealers.. they are just brain dead.. but that would also apply to all other manufacturer dealers as well. Have had ford and holdens.. as well as others... and they are all as bad. |

| Re: HOLDEN PROBLEMS Where can I buy an ignition/key/barrel thingy - as you can see I do not know what it is called being not very car learnered - but my key doesn't want to turn even after giving the steering wheel a little shake to unlock the wheels. Also what sort of person puts those things in? A regular merchanic? Are Holden tailgate latches expensive? | |

![]() | Re: HOLDEN PROBLEMS Anything Key related would have to be Holden genuine parts, unless you can find a suitable wreck with key etc. Depends on if you have central locking, as the only place I could get a key for a VX was Holden. Try ebay, they may at least have keys on there. I would think that a Holden Mechanic could bung it in for ya. As for the latch, I don't quite know, but I would reckon that they are the same latch right up to the VT range, so try a wrecking yard, they may have something lying around. Handy hint too, if you have the big key with the lock/unlock buttons, make sure the little battery inside does not go flat, otherwise it will not let you start the car! I saw a car that had to be tilt trayed 500klm cause the battery went flat in the key!!! Cheers Last edited by Dazza_XL; 20-05-2006 at 19:39. |

| Re: HOLDEN PROBLEMS Fly the locksmith can change them for you Hey and there not cheap either worn out 2 in mine and each time it has cost me between $250 & $300 Ps the holden dealers are more expensive This is a common problem in the VN,VG,VQ,VP,VR,VS SERIES the pin that locks it wears out on the inside of the ignition barrel | |
