Scratched Ute.

well bugger me ive finally gone and done it.
taken this long but it was bound to happen, i scratched the new ute.
theres a few of the hairline ones that come from who knows where, these polished out easy but this ones a barstard.
taking the harcover off to put me bike on, and oops it went crooked and fell in the tray on one side catching the tailgate latch on the way....
bloody hardcovers, there mongorels. always make sure you have plenty help (more than one person) when u do these things. i knew a hardcover was gonna be bad news.
bugger bugger bugger bugger bugger bugger

Re: Scratched Ute.

oh mate I know how you feel! Isn't it horrible! Especially when you do it yourself. I found that someone used my ute as a door stop today and although it will polish out it p!sses me off no end. But atleast I can be angry at them not me.

What we need to make is a teloscopic bike ramp. You use a short piece so it can fit in the back with the bike. But it makes the angle of puting the bike in to steep and hard to control.Hense it falls over.If thats what happend it sounds like i know what am talking about. If that wasnt the case to late i will call my self a dickhead.

haha na mate it wasnt the ramp, i dont use em i just lift the bike on my self. it was when i was taking the hard taunno cover off, i undid the hinges and the gas struts forced it back and off at an angle, hence it fell into the tray and caught the tailgate latch on the way down... so i guess were both dickheads!!!!

lol bloody bikes and utes when i was at dog in a ute last year a guy got knocked of his big so i drove it 200klms back to perth for him lucky it never fell there was about 8 blokes lifting it but the dog wasent to happy about having to share the back of the ute with a bike. The main thing was the guy was over the moon that his bike got taken back.he was coming down the hill and the guy putting the cones out on the road opened his work ute door without looking parked half on the road and half of and the bike run stright into the door.been a bike owner in the past i looked at it as if i was him thought it was the right thing to do.

Re: Scratched Ute.

Trust me Mate I know how your feeling.

I had had the XR6 two weeks and having about bad days at work wanting to go home reversed straight into my not very friendly bosses Holden Rodeo, when leaving the car park. That was covered by Works insurance. Still 6 hundred dollars though.

BUT WAIT IT GETS BETTER............

Monday this week I want to visit my mate at his new house I'd never been there before. He had warned me the Driveway was stuipidly narrow and at the enterance because the hedge hadn't been trimmed back. BUT he forgot to mention the old gate that had been pushed into the hedge so once again while in reverse I scrached the shit out of the side on my ute.

What pisses me off more than anything is the fact that I had my XE for 2 years and never put a real scratch on it.
