Re: EXTRACTORS AND EXHAUSTS

For low down torque get a set of pacemaker or difillipo tri y's and a twin 2.5" sys, look at wa performance or APC they do good systems in perth

Re: EXTRACTORS AND EXHAUSTS

i have heard from the local holden dealer (lewis motors) that putting an exhaust on a new ute can be costly if your engine needs computer analysis in the future.
It does not void the warranty of the vehicle, but for complete computer engine analysis the original exhaust system must be in place (Co2 sensors, etc.). i was advised to wait until after the 10 000 km service before fitting a new exhaust just in case. i
If the engine does need this analysis and you have an aftermarket exhaust fitted, then you must pay the dealers to locate and fit an original spec exhaust to the vehicle (this may mean taking yours off, finding the same model of vehicle and taking the exhaust off that, and then fitting it to yours, doing the analysis, and then vice versa afterwards, or having to purchase a new exhaust system, very expensive).

not gonna stop me though, as my ute nears the 10 000km mark, have got a quote from the local exhaust shop for a twin 2 1/2 inch system with straight through glass pack mufflers, high flow cats and pacemaker pipe-into-cone extractors with dual tips for $2400 dollars including fitting. these blokes have an excellent reputation throuought the wheatbelt for excellent quality exhausts as well, they can make them in house or fit "manta" systems to any late model V8's. Re: EXTRACTORS AND EXHAUSTS

i found pacemakers the best so far, and you HAVE to get them heatproof coated (i forget what its called right now) but it reduces engine bay tempreature dramatically.

Re: EXTRACTORS AND EXHAUSTS

Danny, recently i took a trip to the manta factory in cunderdin w.a, and they gave me the low down on exhausts to suit our utes.

for low down tourque, get a set of HM headers, there not tuned-length like the pacemakers are, but they are designed to give raw bottom end tourque instead of top end kw.

notewise, there is two options, they said for a nice deep growly sort of note get a set of 8 inch hotdogs in the middle after the cats and then a pair of shotgun mufflers at the rear (this is for twin setup, left and right exit). this system (stainless steel price) retailed for 1690, plus 1000 for extractors.

or, for the louder "BNS" style bark, you can go for no hotdogs and a set of straight through fiberglass pack mufflers in the middle. (both these systems are 2 & 1/2 inch) this system was 1390, plus 1000 for extractors.

but wait, there is more. while out there they gave me a lsiten to a vy sv8 that had a cats back twin system on it, same side exit, made of 3 inch pipe. very, very nice note, nice and deep, and without extractors its the best cats-back system around noisewise. this they reckon was $1800 same side exit, or 2230 left and right (costs a lot more to get the bumper modified).

on all systems it was about 300 dollars less for mild steel instead of stainless.

hope this helps mate.
