Rep Power: 4 ![]() | When is a ute NOT a BnS ute I've been thinking about this for a while and not sure if I have a moral to the story or just thinking out loud cos I can... so here goes At Alexandra this year, I was asked by organisers to park my ute in the BnS section. I hadn't planned on doing so as it hasn't got a bullbar and when I had previously entered BnS at other shows it hadn't even been judged. However they told me that becuase it has BnS stickers it was classed as a BnS ute, which to me is fair enough. When judging came around, I was given a fair go by Alex and Casey Jnr who factored in the clearance lights, spotties, aerials, BnS stickers, BnS sheep & cattle tags, BnS stubby holders, BnS wristbands and all the usual stuff like food dye bottles, bow ties and the food dye stained shirt I wore to Elmore BnS. I didn't win, which was ok because there were other utes better suited to that category, in particular the winner. Which brings me to another show, which I won't name for obvious reasons. My ute had all of the above stuff and had evidence of having been to balls. The ute parked next to me had no ball sticker, no sheep or cattle tags, no ball paraphenalia and the owner even admitted to judges that she had never been to a BnS ball. However, her ute looked pretty inside and out, had side skirts, clearance lights, massive 5 poster, roll bar, spotties, mudflaps, aerials, flags and a massive longhorn sticker. She was judged comprehensively and ended up coming second. When it came my turn to be judged, the bloke walked up to my ute, told his mate it wasn't a BnS ute then walked off. I wasn't fussed about winning, because as I have already said there are better utes than mine. But when a ute that hasn't been to a BnS gets a trophy in a BnS category, it becomes unfair to those who actually go to balls. At the same show were guys like Heeler, Diesel, Stebbo and a few others that have been to more balls this year than that chick will ever go to and their utes have the stickers to prove it... none of those guys won BnS at this show.

Rep Power: 1 ![]() | Re: When is a ute NOT a BnS ute That kinda makes me angry because there are people out there who win at ute shows in categories that they shouldnt win. We have not been to a bns ball, therefore we dont have a sticker, therefore we dont enter. I was speaking to someone about this recently and he said that there was a few girls at ute shows who had a cry because they didnt win and said to him "do you know who my father is?" Who cares who you fn father is, its about the time and effort you put into your ute. Its about the creativity and emphasis you put into your ute. And most importantly, it is about the money that YOU put into YOUR ute, not how much gets charged to daddys credit card! I have had my bitch... I really enjoy going to ute shows and seeing what people have done to their utes and personally, i think they are all winners in their own right.

Rep Power: 4 ![]() | Re: When is a ute NOT a BnS ute In all honesty my ute doesn't fit into any one particular category. It's a street ute that has been to BnS's and can prove it, as well as being a work ute and an everyday family car lol. It has a little bit of everything but not enough of one particular thing to actually win regularly at shows.

Rep Power: 1 ![]() | Re: When is a ute NOT a BnS ute We are the same, we werent sure what we were goin for but it looks like it will be best ford at the moment. Can anyone explain why there is best holden category at every ute show, but best ford category is not always an option??? If thats not bias, i dont know what is.

Rep Power: 6 ![]() | Re: When is a ute NOT a BnS ute i recieved the same kinda scrutiny at a show id recently been to. my story is that I have been to 40+ B&S's, and i have all teh stickers.... i ended up winning B&S ute, but i was asked for proof of the stickers... I have a view scape on my back window, so theres no room for stickers, its a tonner, and i dont ahve the sides on for teh tray, so i simply have nowhere for them. BUT they are on there, and they are hidden! I have curtains in my ute on teh back window and i have clear perspex that fits into the back window. the stickers are on that, but arnt visable from the front of the ute, or the back. the judges were happy to ask me where they were and i showed them, so it was accepted... Except i did cop shit form one particular bloke because they went 'stuck' on my ute so its not a B&S ute... ok all the typical ute accessorys, bullbar, skirts, lights, flaps blah blah, as well as the dye, tags, classes it as a ball ute and it must have a ball sticker... BUT! the other question is!... do the stickers have to be stuck on the back window or tailgate to make it count? since this clown wouldnt accept the way ive stuck mine on.
