| Re: The real reason for declining numbers at ute shows OK Olly, you are entitled to your opinion, however so is everyone else and also to disagree with you. Yes, the ute scene is changing, new people with a different approach are soming in, some are leaving for various reasons and this will always be the case. There is something for everyone at every show if you are prepared to look at things with an open mind and appreciate modifications even if they are not to your own personal taste. The drunk element is about, although they aren't in the majority but have you been to any other event, car related or not when there isn't an idiot or two, I know I haven't. As for it dying I don't think so but it is hard for everyone to make some of the shows that are further out, mate $1.70 a litre for diesel isn't too friendly when you are going to travel 1000km or so round trip for a ute show, but some people do it if they can afford it to catch up with a few people and have a good time. I dont need negative people around me. Life is too short. You clearly have had enough.. each to their own. But is it really necessary to make such a scene about it as you exit? You have threatened to leave before and doing it again now. I have learnt something over the years...If it feels good do it...if it doesnt then dont. If you are not having fun anymore at ute shows and the likes. Really I think its time you found something else that blows your hair back and gives you something to look forward to instead of trying to bring ppl down with this negativity on a subject that clearly alot of people love and feel quite passionate about. Their utes. You tell me? Does it sound like anyone here is not a ute enthusiast? If you dont like this life...get a new one. FAIR DINKUM!!! Enough is enough.

I would love for you to enlighten me as to how I have been mean spirited!

| Re: The real reason for declining numbers at ute shows I would like to put my bef in here as well, does it matter whether you build up the ute yourself as i have or you get someone else to do it, does it matter what ute it is ( street rural bns ect.), most of the shows i go to in VIC i will talk to anyone, you do have your clubs that peolpe stick to but if someone talks to me i will chat to them, the major think that upsets a lot of people at shows is the judging ( when a street ute takes out rural ute etc. etc.), does it matter whether you drink at all or like a fish, everyone has a whinge every now and again, we are ute owners not try hards even if we are a try hard ute owner where still a AUSSIE ute owner | |

| Re: The real reason for declining numbers at ute shows ahhh well people, a man can only try his best. I think this is the end of the road for me. The last 7 years since my first show at the alexandra truck ute and hot rod show in '01 has been a blast. I have made many friends, and had lot's of fun. I have had run in's with mr. plod on more than one occasion but all this combined leaves great memories for the years to come. I can no longer stand the piss poor attitude ute people seem to be all about these days. THIS IS MY FINAL POST ON BEAUTUTES 1423 posts, 7 years of ute shows, 10 utes later.... IM OUTTA HERE... I have far more interesting things to do these days, My supra... My New fishing boat, and my new house mean far more to me than the "ute scene" ever will again. The scene has had it's ups and downs, however I am noticing it's on a massive downward spiral.. I just hope that one day the current generation wakes up to themselves, and the scene can go back to the good days. I will however make the annual pilgramage to deni, But thats it.. NO MORE MUSTERS.. SO GOODBYE EVERYBODY, IT'S BEEN FUN. STAY SAFE. SIMON C. BECKER | |
