No he wasn't , Back in my time the original ute show was about the farmers who got together on a weekend so in fact it wasn't realy a ute show it was family and friends who got together shared there stories had a few drinks and yes back then they probly did piss someone off , just because you Olly mite know more about engines diffs and all that stuff it's realy nothing to do with a ute show its about people who love the idea of owning a ute and friendship.

I go to Ute shows cause i love the atmosphere and the people are so laid back, and i get too look at some really cool utes!
My ute is just a beaten old thing i dont enter it in anything, never will, i dont know much about mechanics and this and that but i dont care i love owning a ute and driving it around.... whats that make me??

I dont think you should go around ragging on people cause you dont like how the ute scene has changed... everything changes....

I thank everone for their comments, as I stated in my post, this is simply my opinion nothing else,
Of course people will disagree.. but at least it will get people thinking of why they really attend these shows.
I for one am planning to make the long trip to Deni once again, as I truly love utes, as are a number of other true enthusiasts that are loyal to the old style of ute culture. Can the same commitment be shown by the new breed of muster goers? hmmmm bit of food for thought

No I won't be attending Deni. However, that doesn't make me any less interested or enthusiastic. Unfortunately, we can't all afford the trip or the time off work, some of us do have families and houses etc to pay for! Maybe if you got behind more of the WA shows and helped build the numbers back up here in you home state, we might one day have an event to compete with Deni, one that easterners will also want to travel across for. Stop bagging everyone and everything that doesn't fit into your perception of what the scene should be and start supporting what is trying to be done for the scene.

Sorry but I don't call WA my home state, I am South Oz born n bred, In fact I have an incredible hatred for WA, I'm only here because the money is great!
I don't think WA will see a ute show on par with Deni, you just have to look at the poor turnout for Dog in a ute, which is WA's most important ute show! 300 people compared with 1300 in '05 (don't blame the rain)

In fact I have been to a number of musters in the eastern states, and some of the more memorable ones were the crystal brook muster and the Alexandra Truck ute and hotrod show. these shows have a far better atmosphere then WA shows, no one cares if the judging was rigged who's gives a toss, no cares if such and such drove into a tree, thats their business and no one elses! West Aussies should experience an eastern states muster before singing the praises of their own!

ok i dont have a ute as my parents said no, but i still attend ute shows here hell it may not be the same as on the mainland or as big or whatever but i still loves utes!! but the fact that i dont have 1 beggs to differ i am a lesser ute enthusiest?

WA is WA

We are not going to change to be like the easterns states, cause we are WESTERN AUSTRALIA and thats the way we should stay!!!

yes choppa,well said .the people that go to ute shows like utes and so what if some get drunk we have all been there.well most of the older blokes anyway . it is up to us to slow the young ones down not run them down.people worry about the wrong things what about the police bullshit everyone has to deal with.relax and go with the flow.i wish i could go to ute shows and meet some of you people but i work all the time.if i had time to go i would be knocking back cans with the young ones ,but thats just me.
