Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Boyup muster age problem!! Can you beleive i had booked tickets to go to the Boyup muster and wasnt allowed in!! we rock up on Friday night and get asked for ID a few times. Only being 17, we only had drivers lisences on us. After not being able to pick up our tickets (as my mother had bought them for me as a pressie, they wouldnt give them to me as i wasnt the person who paid for them even though she told them i was pickin them up) we got handed over to the secratary...she told us that the whole event was under liquor licensing and that for us to be there we had to be over 18 or have a legal guardian. this was suppose to be a family event for people of all ages, not for people to walk around holding mummies hand, especially when ya 17!! my parents wouldnt wanna go to something like that, and what if your parents live ages away (eg Christmas Island). needless to say their attempt for us to be able to stay and have a good time was to remain in a roped off area (you may have seen it just infront of the porta-loos!) and report to the security guard every so often, every hour should do it! talk about pissed off, how the hell is that suppose to be an enjoyable night....so i missed the ute muster as we went home, bloody long drive just to get some grub!! |

She was a little worried about this happening so I rang the Tourist Bureau and asked if it was an all ages event, they said yes, so we were under the impression that all would be fine! What a crock of s**t!!!! I even got asked for ID! I'm almost 25! I asked the woman if she was joking and she got all snakey at me! I am absolutely furious at how Boof was treated! There should have been a licensed area(beer garden) like they have at so many events these days, to make it friendly for everyone! |

| Re: Boyup muster age problem!! Can understand the payment side of things - i.e. the card holder has to pick the tickets up, is like that at a lot of other events, but if your mum specified that you would be picking them up I dunno what the problem would've been. Soph you should've told them you were her guardian! I did that with my younger sister when I took her out of boarding school for the weekend. Went to the OB on a Saturday I think for lunch, would've been 10 or more of us there (including 2 other girls sisters still in school), she wasn't drinking or anything and they tried to throw her out but then I spat it and told them I was signed as her legal guardian because she lived with me while going to school in Perth. Worked pretty well!
