You're never too old for ute shows. The little social ute club; that my husband and I and a few friends started is the Ol' Mates Ute Club. The youngest member is 21 and drives a jumbuck with a 5 poster; the oldest is in his mid 60's and drives a beautifully restored HJ Kingswood; and he gets to nearly as many as the rest of us; which at one stage in June this year; every weekend. The next two in age; in our club whic go frequently are my husband and myself. He's 52 in February next year; and myself who won't back off the ute shows[except when I have to work]; and I'm 43 in 6 months time. Another member who goes to heaps of shows is in his mid 30's. Most of the members are mates; it's just co-incidence that most of us are over 30. |

| Re: HOW OLD IS TOO OLD FOR BEING IN THE UTE SCENE I think that age doesnt really matter in things. If you think you are too old and do not have the heart for it anymore, then maybe you should pack it in. but by the sound of it your heart is still in it, you are just worried about your age. Who cares? My Dad is in his late 40's and still collects matchbox cars. Who says you have to grow up and act your age. half the people i know act way younger then their true age. I personally dont think that it matters really. If you love having the ute, and going to the musters etc, keep with it. | |
