Re: Circle Work???

Google it.... I just did and was very surprised at the amount of info....

but just like the others said....
put the foot to the floor.... to a couple of figure eights.... go in a straight line for a bit and turn the wheel to do a flick....
just practice.... make up your own style and above all have fun!

Re: Circle Work???

yeah but with a diesel u have a governor so u can hold it flat to the floor all day long no problems, mine is a 5.7L V8 with a rev limiter and after about 5-10 seconds at full revs it transfers the power into the chassis and shakes shit out of the ute lol

so just got rip up some grass lol what the judges look for?

Re: Circle Work???

A mistake I made on my first rollback was not checking for gum trees. So I guess for circle work I would advise give yourself plenty of room and experiment. Just like Burke_a_lot mentioned make up your own style and have fun. Judges I am sure would give points on originality.

Re: Circle Work???

I have never done circle work for competition only for fun. I would suggest an extra set of tyres if you want to drive home afterwards, if you can see where I am heading with this. A pair suited to where the comp is would be ideal and would only need to be seconds not new should they distruct.

Re: Circle Work???

theres more to it then holding it flat and turning the wheel. doing that breaks things.
bassicly learn your ute to begin with, find out how she handles when its out of control, and yeh.
basicly, get r wheels spining and just turn your wheel, doesnt need to be full lock, but as ur sideways, turn your wheel the oposite way, let ur revs drop, then brng them up again. thats the basic way of doing things

Re: Circle Work???

When you get good go for the gate.
Just remember the strainer might hurt! He, He!
When you make it, do it again and again, and again.
You wont even need a dog to bring in the sheep.

Re: Circle Work???

it may take abit to get right as all vehicles tend to act differantly but beaut xh is on the right track there

as for tyres you may want to get a set of 15' or 16's because chewin the bigger type tyres will get a little expencive

Re: Circle Work???

Weve organised the circlework and other driving events at Deni for the last 3 years and have held loads of circlework comps b4, when your being judged its out of 10 for each:

Drifting
Figure 8's
Circles
Driver Control
Use of Arena
Crowd Appeal

Its won or lost with the Crowd appeal mostly as no crowd appeal results in 1's and 2's but if you get em screaming you can easily score 9's and 10's the rest are pretty level through most comps, one driving skill not seen often enough is drifting... its rare to see a ute get one or two full laps in and the crowds love to see it. At Deni only 3 or 4 utes out of 25 managed to pull off full laps... Crowd appeal can be won by anyone, be flashy, be a showpony, they love noise, smoke, lights, flags etc. But driving wise, drifting, 8's, circle/donuts, control and using all of the arena is what the judges look for.

Kope that helps mate.
