Country Ute Musters!

All these battling Australian Country Towns around Australia that hold their yearly Ute Musters ... the amount of money that we bring into these towns, some city people think that we're all bloody rednecks.... not all but some.

We bring in thousands of dollars to every town we go to, whether it be buying fuel, food, beer, rum, paying our entry fees... buying stuff at there stalls and so much more!

What would these towns be like without these ute musters?

Every cent we spend goes directly back into these communitys! We help raise money for their schools, community projects, town swimming pools, so much more!

Indeed we do...thats one good reason to attend as many as possible!

hell yeah!
there was a chick walking round at deni with a serious attitude. some guy said something to her (as they do) and her reply was something like go back to where you come from we don't need you here. all of us felt like pulling her aside and saying, well yes you do actually. the whole reason that the utemuster at deni come about was to raise revenue for the community and now look at it. every utester knows about deni and they all have been or have plans of going.
billy is right about the money going back into the community. same thing went for balls at one stage too. there aren't many balls here in SA any more because of various reasons, mostly the insurance. they used to be big revenue raisers for the community.
i really don't know why some people have such a big whinge about this. it's for one weekend out of the year for goodness sake.
and when you stop for petrol on the way to a uteshow or ball or whatever; how many people just get fuel? you always buy something else as well. think of the people that benefit on the trip to your destination as well.

Your right Kaz....us hillbillies/hicks/country folk/bogans/whatever else they call us get a bad rap sometimes. Then again Bundy Chickadee and i walked through Subi in our hats, jeans n boots last weekend and we were instant celebrities! We just ignore the looks and comments (both good and bad) but you'd think the city slickers had never seen a real person before!

I spoke to one of the bouncers at the OBH the other day and he was saying that even though the country ppl get rowdier, he rarely needs to intervene. When the city boys get rowdy, trouble usually follows...if only people would see that..

Oh and just because we enjoy our utes, flannees and rum doesnt mean we fit the stereotype!

Gotta love the musters mate... All the people with similar interests, drinkin rum/beer and up for a good catch up and chat. I love the atomsphere, nothing better!

and the thing about the country/city thing at the OBH. true as well. i know i'm making a huge generilazation here with this but my classification of these city people is.......they are not like minded people. you have the people that live in the city but generally enjoy the same thing as most other people do at utemusters etc. this is not who i am talking about. the ones i mean are the ones that come for a look at what all the fuss is about, they can see people having a good time and want to be in on it too. fine if they come with the right attitude.
of all the balls i used to go to not once did i see a fight started by a country person. usually if something happens it ends up with a shaking of hands and an offer of getting the next drink. all good really. not everyone gets on but generally there is the whole thing of agreeing to disagree.
one bad one i saw was with a guy from the city and a few other guys. city boy was trying to "sell his wares" to a chick and the other boys saw it. they didn't take to kindly to it, saying 'we don't need your type of $hit here so push off'. when he didn't want to they got a bit pushy and city boy was up for a fight. didn't take long for security to intervene and as soon as they did the boys backed off and city boy was escorted out. end of story. everyone went back to having a good time. this is what i like about balls, everyone's your mate. i don't know how many times i have been the "hair holder" to some random chick who seemed to have lost her mates. i don't mind, be good to know that someone would do that for me if i was in the same situation.

yep the good ol' ute muster is good.......ya catch up with ya mates from the last muster and hit the piss and have a good time, all in the same time ya get to show off the rig ya drive round in.

the musters represent the true aussie spirit i reckon - utes, mates and a bloody good time. these city people need to get back in their boxes and stop paying out things they obviously know very little about!
