No, not banned. I have hit roos, sheep and wild pig without a bar and that certainly redesigned my front-end…these animals come out of nowhere. What about cattle and camels up north…now that would certainly make a mess to the bodywork. I like the way a bar deflects an animal.

I guess that this is the wrong place for this question cos im sure that 99 out of 100 people on here either have a bull bar or have had 1. I hit a tailshaft that had come out of a truck while I was headin up the Hume Hwy (and no I wasnt sittin still at the time) and if i didnt have a bullbar on my ute I wouldnt be here now. It hit me straight in through the front of the ute like a torpido and its only that the bar deflected it that I am still here now. I realise that they arnt against all bull bars its just the 5 posters with sharp edges that they dont like but I know that I wouldnt have a car without 1 especially now that I live in the NT.

i was havin a think about this the other day. this whole rural area vs city. there are ALOT of vehicles in rural areas without bullbars. it doesnt matter if it is a ute a car a 4b a truck a van etc. a bullbar is added protection if you so desire it, but, alot dont have one, so does that mean the rural utes MUSt have a bullbar cause they live in those areas? im sure you love the look of them, who doesnt, they look great on utes. ya have to think, are they necessary or is it just cause we travel on roo roads and like the protection AND the look? i certainly do. i hit a wombat at 120 and u should see the dent in the bar. id luv to think about what it woulda done to my front panels. ya always see utes without bars so ya know stop makin excuses that you NEED them they are great yes and do provide heaps of protection, but they look great too.

the problem with only banning them in citys is how 2 enforce it. some city people work out of town too. and does it mean if i drive through the city with a bull bar i gonna get defected? its not the bars fault if some idiot crosses the road without lookin first.

when i lived at the coast the only road in had heaps of wombats on it. a few cars were completely wrote off cause of them. sometimes they do more damage than a roo. especially for there size.
