i agree with beaut xh we need areas to do motorsport eg skid pan burnout pads but you will still get the idiots who go and do burnouts and drifting in industrial estates up here

what they needa do is organise time to close down the industrial estates and let the guys have there fun, all under supervision of course

On the Gold Coast several years ago they had what they called 'operation drag'. It was run by the police for the public using the old drag strip near Cararra. Any would go as long as you had a regisitered car. You would dail in your time and race. There was a full worked street legal car raced by a couple of the cops with all the lights and sirens. It was a great succes for a while.

Problem: The police and RTA starting writting down the plates of cars that seemed to be to quick. Cops/RTA would see them out pull them over and go over the car with a fine tooth comb. The public got jack of the searches that would last upto three hours. So they stopped going.

The police had a great thing going. it was working though they abused the situation.
