Re: My 5 Post Bullbar vs Politician's

Heres something interesting for ya Barnsy, me mate got stickered at the BnS on the weekend in his WB, it has a 4inch 5 poster on the front of it, they stickered him for just a leaky oil filler and a couple of other minor discretions, when he asked about the bull bar the copper said, Not an issue anymore mate, there not illegal. Be interesting to see if this is the judgement of an individual copper or if its the view of the whole WA police force

Re: My 5 Post Bullbar vs Politician's

So can anyone tell me what would happen if say a 19-23 year old drivers had no bullbars on their utes surely they'd pay more than just the first $700 bucks. because i know my premiums went down when i told them i had a bullbar on the front of mine. And a word of advice for those being harrassed by coppers. If it is the same cop for the third time then write thier name and badge no down and take a complaint to your local sergant and make it official. they will easily be transferred.

Re: My 5 Post Bullbar vs Politician's

i hit a roo bout 2 months ago in my ute. i wish i had a bull bar now cos it would of done less damage also im glad the roo was only a small one cos if it was a big one, i could of been seriouly hurt. i did 4 grand worth of damage, lucky it was insuranced. i only had to pay 900 bucks, the insurances company paid the rest.

Re: My 5 Post Bullbar vs Politician's

I wrote to the DPI at the end of last year. It took a few emails to finally get a reply from them.
It pretty much states that trucks do not have to comply to ADR69 and therefore are exempt from bull bar classifaction.
I will send Barnsy( or anyone else) a copy if he wants to have a look at it.

Yeah that would be good if you could send me a copy Todd, my email is jmbarnes02@bigpond.com As far as im concerned we still all drive on the same road so you cant go having 2 sets of rules. I've tried to get info from the DPI before but all they said to me was that they are illegle but that had no formal paper work as of yet, but that was a while ago though.

That is very interesting, do you know which station they were from cause i wouldn't mind giving them a call to have a chat with them about it because this is causing so much confusion for everyone. We dont know if there allowed or not and if there are some police saying they are illegle and some saying there not, where do we stand then????
I only need the station location, no names or anything and i will let ya know what comes about of it

Re: My 5 Post Bullbar vs Politician's

well done mate. i dont think our pollies really know wat these bars are made for. i have a 4 post but the same design and it has saved me from about4 roo's and i have only done 1000 k's in it in a year (learner). we need to stress how important it is for us to protect our cars that travel on country roads 365 days a year.

Re: My 5 Post Bullbar vs Politician's

I have a 5poster on my ute. i took it off and sold it cuz i was unsure of the laws, but i regretted it two weeks later when i stacked it and did ten grands damage to my front end!!!!
its saved me from countless roos and couple stray sheep! also 1 pig!!!!!!!(down south)
i feel they are a nessisary part of country driving and should be allowed.
p.s. they r there for a reason, what do the pollies say about all the city people drivin around in their flash 4wd's with their big shiny bars that've never seen a dirt rd or 4wd track in their life????????
