I think the copper was happy when i said to him "no drag strip up here so no point havein an XR8 and doin it up, so i built this, it's slowed it down but it's fun to drive" |

Rep Power: 2 ![]() | Re: bloody cops My ute is a fairly standard 4x4 hilux so doesnt attrat much attention but i did find just after getting my licence i was pulled over nearly everytime i went to town. i think the whole male, P-plate, with a longhorn sticker on the back window is what got their mouths watering. one cop made me blow three times before he accepted i was sober, nearly cracked a can right there just to make him happy ![]()

| Re: bloody cops I think the cops just like picking on anything a bit different. A friend owns an awsesome HQ tonner (street) and she gets hassled all the time and another guy i know has a VY dumped on it's ass with big wheels and they never leave him alone.

| Re: bloody cops In the NT I never got pulled over once. Since coming to Toowoomba its been a different story. I've even had the line "we're watching you"! Now anyone that knows me - knows that I drive like a Nanna. My ute is in fairly good condition - its certainly not a rust bucket. I copped a few warnings before I was actually fined. Then they pulled me over and spent 20 minutes taking photos and going over the whole ute with a fine tooth comb. Fined me for driving a defective vehicle because of the lights on the rollbar (fair enough - I always knew having 3 was a problem), having a right hand aerial, having red lens covers on the bull lights (I could apparently impersonate an emergency vehicle), and my number plate not running parallel with the axles. They also gave me a warning about my tyres. So off came the lights - everything else stayed. Got new tyres put on. Since that time I've been pulled over twice. The most amusing was being pulled over on my way to work the other day by an unmarked car. He said that he just wanted to know if it was true. I asked him what he meant -he said "Is Barbie really a sl*t?". He said he had to check because if it was true he needed to go home and confiscate about 20 barbie dolls from his daughter. He and his partner had apparently been following me for about 5 minutes pissing themselves laughing at my ute. It was refreshing to be pulled over by a copper with a sense of humour, and who wasn't on a power trip.

Rep Power: 2 ![]() | Re: bloody cops I agree that some cops can be pains in the rear, but its not just aimed at bns utes... But when it comes down to it, some utes and sedans I`ve seen on the road should not be there... They are only doing their job and most of the time it doesnt pay to get on the wrong side of them cause they can cause a lot of headaches in your life.. and they are like any sector of the work force, they will usually stick together and back each other up so it wont just be the 1 hassling you but his mates as well.... |
