| GPS Navigators...Which One?? I am looking at buying a gps navigator, the ones that have street maps and tell you where to go. I think I have narrowed it down to two models, Tomtom and Garmin, both top of the range and new release models. Does anyone have experience using either of these brands and what do you think of them. Would like to know which would be the better buy to help me make up my mind which one to get. | |

| Re: GPS Navigators...Which One?? CANT MIND WHAT ONE IS IN MY WORK CAR BUT THEY ARE VERY HANDY MEENS YOU CAN EAT AND DRINK WHILE DRIVING CAUSE YOU DONT HAVE TO LOOK AT A MAP BOOK. ONLY PROBLEM IT COMES WITH A WOMANS VOICE SO YOU GOT A WOMEN TELLING YOU WHAT TO DO ALL DAY. HAHAHA JUST MIND YOU HAVE TO KEEP UP DATING THE SOFTWARE ON THEM .

| Re: GPS Navigators...Which One?? I've never tried them, so don't know how good they are. I was watching Top Gear earlier this year & the one they used led them down no thru rds & told them to turn left/right etc... at the culdesac. It was fun watching them try to work out how to get to the site while this thing wouldn't shut up, it kept telling them to turn around & go back to the culdesac.

I've had the CS360 or somethign arrather in the past, easy to use pretty well spot on with all its features etc. Now got a Garmin Nuvi310. Has bluetooth and such too! Its nice and compact and again easy to use. Just don't leave the suction pad mount on your window for too long out in the sun. As a mate can attest - they stick on!!!

I did a bette rjob finding my way around than what the damn machine did. I saw a lot of dead end roads while I was there! I found it really slow and unclear giving directions too! Half the time you were sailing past the the street that you needed and it was only just telling you to turn! I'll stick to my own sense of direction I think... And if that fails, a road map sounds good!!! |

| Re: GPS Navigators...Which One?? DON'T BOTHER, the last one we tried to follow gave us the scenic tour of bunbury 3 TIMES!!!, before radioing GEN111, and getting proper directions. also on the way to deni, a road shown as a sealed road on the GPS, turned out to be a little used DROVING TRACK, yeah stick with ya UBD!!! | |

![]() | Re: GPS Navigators...Which One?? Navman S30 here. Certainly is not fool-proof. Sometimes tries to send me the wrong way down one way streets, and asks me to turn right when I can only turn left. But it's quick enough to recalculate & get me back on track. Also warns when the route contains unsealed roads. Only thing it's missing, doesn't say street names. Just "Turn Right". But the newer Navmans have this feature built in.
