Finally Gonna Hit The Road

The opportunity has finally presented itself for me to be able to load up the ute with my swag and the mutt and just hit the open road. What I would really love from you guys is some ideas as to where i could start. I have a general idea as to where I want to go but I'm sure that there are a few of you that have your favourite spots and I would love to know about them. I'd also love your input on the idea that I have of putting my 5 poster back on as I don't particularly like the idea of driving thru the country with no front protection. All ideas and thoughts will be greatly appreciated.

Do the Great Ocean Road Drive. We done it but I took it like a race course. And we missed heaps. So we will do it again at a slower pace. It really is a great drive.

I'm going to start by heading up to kalbarri and broome....went there for holidays when i was a teenager and i always had fun. this time i'll be able to party really hard.

when in VIC come to Ballarat....after going through big towns and cities ballarat is a nice change

Another place to go is the Mt.Gambier area. Now this is truely a great looking spot with heaps to do and see. We went there a couple of years ago and it was great. Most of the people were great apart from one newsagent fella in the main street.
Avoid Whyalla (SA) it a shit hole dump. Sorry to all who live there but I did at one stage and it has never changed.

There are plenty of good spots near me... Mt Bulla, Mt Hotham for example if you wanna see some snow.

If you need somewhere to stay for a couple of days my door is always open mate.

pass through a good country town Bega NSW and head up the coast to Narooma sea side place great spot
if you are traveling to Brisbane drop a line welcome to stay at our place plenty to see heading north or heading out west qld

quite right some top spots along the east coast if you are passing through merimbula your welcome to stay as well

I would like to take this chance to thank you all for your suggestions and they will be written down in a book for me to use at a later date but it with great regret that the trip around australia has been put on hold for god knows how long as i was involved in a car accident.....well actually no it wasn't an accident it was a case of VERY bad road rage....which has resulted in my car sustaining some major damage....thankfully it hasn't been written off but it's just going to be very expensive to fix.....the guy who hit me is is a hell of a lot of trouble and hopefully he's insured...if not i'm gonna sue his ass.
