Rep Power: 0 ![]() | '77 Tonner needs a repower My Tonner is my daily ride and needs a repower,I've scored a low km RB30 injected motor I would like to merge with my Tonner. If anyone has done one I'd love to get the tips on what not to,and where to start.Think to keep things simple I might look for a carby manifold to fit? Thanks in advance |

| Re: '77 Tonner needs a repower the VL or VK run the skyline RB30 Engine so look into what driveline they run and see if its like ur one, might be worth getting a VT 308 and putting in it for power and fuel economy

Rep Power: 3 ![]() | Re: '77 Tonner needs a repower I've seen a few RB30 into EH and Toranas, some of that may apply, CRS do a heap of parts http://www.rodshop.com.au/holden/hq-wb.htm and is a good start. I don't know about NZ compliance but ADR's state that any newer engine must keep all its pollution gear on it, so no to the carbie conversion, If you still have the complete loom intact then it is straightforward, not easy, but pretty much straight forward www.oldholden.com is also a great help for conversions. A quick measure up is also a pretty good idea, from memory they are a bit longer then the Holden six and a pain to fit to some of the earlier models ( they are two long for and easy conversion to EH’s, but do able) Good luck MattEH |

Rep Power: 4 ![]() | Re: '77 Tonner needs a repower i can't remeber what year but some of the GQ patrol's came out with a carby RB30 motor , might be worth chasing one of those inlets up you'll get heaps better performance out of the injection though
