Rep Power: 2 ![]() | Hi All I'm after a place in NSW, preferrably in the Sydney/Hunter area (anywhere else is ok, just thinking shipping costs) that restores complete dashes and consoles for the HZ Kingswood utes. I am in the process of stripping out the old and bringing in the new. My interior is being done by D&L Upholserty in Maitland but they do not do the dash. They said a place in Sydney called Restore-A-Dash can do it but I am yet to actually find a number for them. If anyone knows of a place that can help me out, please let me know. Also, I want to get an overhead console for the HZ, again if anyone knows where I can get this in NSW, give me a yell. Thanks ![]()

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Re: Dash Restoration and Overhead Consoles When I was restoring my HZ I got my dash and door trims done by 'The Dashboard Doctor.' The Dashboard Doctor - Repairing dashboards, door trims, consoles and armrests And I reckon American Autos used to do door trims and changeover dashboards too. Amazing what they'll accept too in a changeover dash. I remember the changeover dash I did with The Dashboard Doctor back in the day was absolutely horrendous. They can obviously fix them though. Got the idea of fibreglassing them too from them. They you can put aftermarket gauge holders molded into the top of your dashboard. You sand it back, paint it matt black or whatever colour and it looks magic. You just don't have the original soft, squishy dash top anymore. But it saved me some money and it gave me a place for my guages. Although I believe they can do it so your dash still has the 'factory' feel if that's what you're after. |
