Kid playing chicken V's Truck

I just got a note from my driver this morning that a boy was playing chicken with my truck this morning and he had to hit the skids hard and tipped over a lot of the load costing me about $500 in lost product...

Now this makes me so bloody mad !!!!! if he had hit him god can you imagen the uproar for his parents and the community because i have a bull bar on my truck (with good reason as i need it !!!) No it would never be the dumb sh*&head KIds fault NO it would be my drivers and my fault all because some dipsh&% kid wants to be stupid...

I just feel for my driver a bit as he is a good driver and a decent block as well this would have shaken him up a bit ... and i know if he had hit / killed the kid he would never forgive him self ...

I just can't get over the stupidity of it !!!!

been a truck driver this is the shit i put up with ever day today a car pull out in frount of me trying to beat me if i had not stoped i would of t bone them all i could see when isto was four kids looking up at me

I know where you guys are comin from, the only trucks that I have driven have been fire trucks but the amount of STUPID people that are on the roads these days as you said trying to beat trucks and just get in the road is overwelming. Up here in the NT with the road trains you can only show respect for the drivers of those big trucks (but if you dont you will end off second best) and get out of there way.

a bloke who used to work for us had two people in seperate incidents die under his truck because they got sick of their lives. well what about this poor blokes life?? he never fully got over it and neither would i...
as for those kids, they're the reason the bloody pedestrian council is making life hell for people with bullbars...protecting those who are too damn dumb to protect themselves...

truckies are marked men on the road because they are always on the road.People dont understand when there in bed truckies are makin miles to put food in there fridge.Things will not change,police and the public still blame the truckie for everything.live with it and be careful out there because,shit its a way of life and life gos on.

I have so much respect for truckies, they do hard long hours to get produce and needed stuff all over the country, whenever im goin to overtake them i always do the indicater flick to say thanks, not just for letting me go round em, but thanks for everythin they do. young kids doing that deserve to get cleaned up, one less tool on the road, unfortunately like u guys have said that'd create a ripple of pain.

yeah i agree with ggg, gotta respect the truckies.. afew weeks back when i picked up my new ute from Dubbo, i chatted to the truckies on the uhf and did the indicator flick to say thanks..

If it wasn't for truckies people all over the country wouldn't have half the shit they buy in the shops.

I take my hat off to em all!!

They put up with a lot of bullshit and dickheads on the road!!

I agree with everything everyone has said, my dad has been a truckie all his life and ended up giving it away after a lady with 3 kids in one of those backwards facing seats in a stationwagon pulled out in front of him, he missed that car by a matters of cm's but it really buggered him up then he had some stuffing idiot standing on a medium strip throw a piece of steel (aiming for the windscreen but obviously wasnt strong enough) throught his radiator. Stupid sh!t like this really annoys me after all truckies are just out there doing a job and earning a buck for their own families back home who i must say have a hard enough life with dad away all the time without him coming home being ruined for life by some act of sheer ignorance and stupidity

I think part of driver training and learners tests should be info and questions relating to truck braking distances and alike ..... when young people get their licences they should be made aware of these things. They should be made aware that having respect for trucks is life saving.

have to agree with you all, but over my way we get some truck drivers who dont even slow down for towns. I have seen trucks doin 80-90 ks millimeters off the bumper of the car in front, trying to push them into going faster even in heavy traffic trash man feel sorryfor ya havin to loose so much money, cheers David

yeh have to strongly agree with you here

i dirve truck most days and other heavy machinery the other days and i have seen alot of bad truck drivers out there even so more good drivers than bad

a few of the worst have been one north bounder going thru a 80km zone town on the highway but insteed of slowing down to the speed limit stayed up there pushing 100km/h+ thru the twon while crossing to the other side of the road to cut the coners

now that was pretty bad by was mid early morning (about 2:30am) so nothing else on the roads at that time but the worst i have ever seen

a south bounder that was already speeding way over the limit getting into the roadwork area with another 80km/h zone
i was already pushing 90km/h+ thru it and already breaking the law myself but this rig not happy with my speeding crossed over the double lines to the wrong side of the roadand continues one flick rocks and pebbles up at me
i tryed to get onto the back of hime but i gave up at 110km/h and he was still pulling away strong

he honestly scared me and to this day i wonder if he made it to where he was going and if he did if he has managed not to kill himself or other thus far

trucks nowdays are getting better and better and are more able than ever to handle most things that happin with better gearing, safty controls and brakeing systems

well i see it this way the counicil or goverments or anyone can keep puttin trucks off the road for the idiots of kids who think there invinsible but you know trucks are the way they all get there grocies and grog and everything at one stage or anouther goes by truck and without trucks australia stops so what are we truckies suppose to do i dont drive yet but ive applied to drive for the army and thats all i ever wanted to do is drive and the way its goin im not gonna get to cos of these idiot kids who play chicken and it not just with truckks there doin it with cars buses trains trams there gonna get killed and they wont get blamed for it its always the driver of the vehicle

i dout the goverment would do it because of idots but i have a story like this that ended worst

it was when i was younger and a teenager and my coach was driveing down to the gong one night for hiw work and going past the uni down there when some kid jumped out in frount of him dressed fully in black

my coach hit him and the first he knew about it was with this kids head thru his windscreen

there was no skid marks it was that quick and the coppers later found a note in the kids room

sadly it hit my coach pretty hard and took him a while to get over it

yer i here ya mate a mate of me dad pulled up at the lights one day and a bunch of bloody teenageers in there hoon mobile pulled up bout halfway down the side og his double behind a couple other cars and of course he was turning and he let the front couple a cars go and then started turning as ya do and ran over the teens car crushing the driver and he got done for it and his licence thrown away and he was put in jail cos the idiot couldnt bloddy wait five seconds to let him go wheres the justice in that

hate to bring this up again but we hada game of chicken the other week but not with kids a guy in a tray truck as we was comin down a hill there is a intercetion bout half way down and the idiot just pulled out in front of us and we had a 20ft container on it with imported goods for a timber place up home and a heap of other crap we picked up from the depot and most of it was glas jam jars and how it didnt breack one of em has got me buggered but the tires are no rooted cos it left flat spots on all 12 plus the trucks ones thats how hard me dad hit the brakes to try and slow us down scary shit i must say
