2010 Moot Yang Gunya Ute Muster
Thats right, We're back!!!

And we're BIGGER than last year

We've listened to the talk around the traps and have added more catagories and we've got even more prizes than last year.
Total prize pool as it stands now is around:

$7500!

The muster is run at the same time as the Moot Yang Gunya Festival, so on top of some great utes to look at and great people to catch up with, there's heaps of other stuff going on including The Stockmans Challenge, show rides and plenty more. Camping is available on site for a very minimal cost which is to cover use of the showers and toilets.

Catagories are as follows:

1: Best Rural Ute-Well accessorized, nudge bar/bullbar, few stickers, clean, shiny, new or old, fastidiously looked after but still driven on dirt and paved roads.

"NEW"2: Best Genuine B&S Ute- Bullbar, aerials, side skirts/stone guards, spotlights, CB, UHF, side lights etc. Shows the true tradition of the unique Aussie B&S ute so doesn’t have to be spotless etc.

"NEW"3. Best B&S Styled-This is for the ute that looks the goods-Big shiny bullbar, side skirts/stone guards, spotlights, CB, UHF, side lights etc. Almost a show ute but with the unmistakable Australian B&S theme

4: Best Street: Immaculate paint (some stone chips acceptable as proof of driving), interior clean and tidy, tray perhaps decked out, and nice wheels. All round tidy Ute.

"NEW"5: Hotrod: We’re looking for customisation here….massive amounts of it!

6: Best 4wd- Best fitted out 4wd for genuine 4wd off reading (winch, fridge, first aid kit, bull bar, spotlights, roof racks etc)

7: Best Tradies/purpose built-Best fitted out for work; custom toolboxes, signage, full ladder racks, tools for job etc.

8: Most Practical Ute: Best home handyman Ute. Possibly with ladder racks and toolboxes. Ute must not be involved in business (except perhaps farming) so have no sign writing etc.

9: Best Country/B&S Chicks Ute: Ute showing evidence of a females touch (proof of registration may be asked for) within the judging parameters for best Country/B&S.

10: Best Chicks Street: Ute showing evidence of a females touch (proof of registration may be asked for) within the judging parameters of Street.

11: Classic: 1948-1975 Ute either restored to original or still original.

"NEW"12: Vintage: Pre 1948 Ute either restored to original or still original.

13: Best Jap: Speaks for itself

14: Best Ford: Speaks for itself

15: Best Holden: Speaks for itself

16: Best Feral: Roughest most beat up Ute. Must still run, be registered and driven in on the day. Proof of registration may be required.

17: Best overall display: This is for the themed Ute. Includes the way the flags tie in with the overall look of the Ute as well as lights and general presentation such as decorations in cab and tray.

18: Policeman’s choice: Dancing with fire! This will be judged by an officer of the law and will be his/her Ute of choice. May come back to roadworthiness.

19: Most Trucked up: The closest a Ute can get to be being a truck without actually being a truck. Exhaust stacks etc a definite advantage.

20: Peoples choice: As voted on the day
21: Kids choice: As voted on the day
"NEW"22: Most likely to be pulled over: For the one (as judged by our judges) most likely, out of all the utes present to be pulled over by the constabulary. May not be the most feral or the loudest etc, maybe just the most radical.
23: Stereo Sound off: This will be measured using a Db meter and a judges ear with the music to be supplied by organizers
24: Exhaust sound off, 4, 6 & 8: Measured using a Db meter and a judges ear. No open exhausts. Run it as you bring it.
25: Furthest traveled: From garaged address and checked with a GPS. Please be honest.
26,27: Encouragement award-Street and Country/B&S: This is for the people who are just getting started. Be honest about the number of shows entered and awards won.

Grand Champion Ute: Winner judged from winners of categories above other than loudest stereo/exhaust, most likely to pulled over and furthest traveled.

Whats the damage to the wallet?:Entry for the ute is $20. For your coin you will get a registration pack, and entry into 15 (no thats not a typo!) FIFTEEN! catagories. This registration cost does not include entry into the show itself. From memory this is $6 a person but I will have to update this.

hey so whats the camping like up there? meant to be going to the loveday 4by muster but have had to pull out. so going to try and take the troll out to this instead, clearly cant enter being a wagon :p but just wanna swag it for the night and head back the next day. cheers.

Friday night, I believe the oval where the muster is being held is available, but Saturday we have to camp in the trees. The horse guys need to set up a couple of dressage rings on the oval for sundays events....

UPDATE ON CAMPING: THERE WILL BE NO FIRES.

there is a $1200 fine for anyone caught lighting fires...so the best way to keep warm is to not be alone in your swag
