Rep Power: 2 ![]() | Moot Yang Gunya Festival Ute Show 2009 I'm giving everyone plenty of notice on this one so I expect a huge crowd Where: Mundulla Football/Showgrounds SA which is 10km east of Bordertown in SA's southeast When: March 7th 2009 (Adelaide Cup long weekend) Told you it was heaps of notice!!! ![]() Ute Muster Rules and Expectations 1. Definition of a “Ute”: Any vehicle with a tray area, which has a carrying capacity of up to 1 tonne. Tray area can be covered with a canopy or the like. 2. ALL Utes to be judged must be in place no later than 11.am. If you aren’t there by then you don’t get judged. 3. Judging to begin at 12.pm sharp. If the owner is not present the ute will be judged without the owner present. Therefore, it is in your best interest to be present when judging is scheduled to start. 4: Judges decision is final; no dummy spitting will be tolerated. 5. Follow all marshals’ directions. 6. Registration fee is $5 plus entry into the show. This gets entry into Peoples choice and Kids choice one category plus a registration pack. Entry to any other categories is $5 per category. 7: Each ute can only win one category (not including loudest stereo/exhaust, furtherest traveled,or encouragement awards) but can be entered into as many categories as the owner likes. This then puts the winning utes for each category into judging for Grand champion ute. 8: Entry into Ute muster does not mean entry to the Festival. A separate pass must be purchased. 9: SA Road laws will be enforced in and around the showgrounds so behave. Remember that your behaviour is on public display and can reflect badly upon all others taking part in this and future musters. 10: Attendees assume full responsibility & accept full liability for their own health, well-being, safety, physical actions & the result of all their actions. 11: Failure to comply with rules & instructions will result in automatic disqualification from the competition & forfeiture of entry fee. 12:Any attempt to carry out “Circle Work”, “Key Bangers” and the like will result in immediate expulsion from the Showgrounds with forfeiture of all entry fees 13: BYO prohibited. Categories 1:Best Town Ute-Well acessorised, nudge bar/bullbar, few stickers, clean, shiny, new or old, fastidiously looked after but still driven on dirt and paved roads. 2:Best Country/B&S Ute- Bullbar, aerials, side skirts/stone guards, spotties, CB, UHF, side lights etc. Doesn’t have to be spotless. 3:Best Street: Immaculate paint (some stone chips acceptable as proof of driving), interior clean and tidy, tray perhaps decked out, nice wheels. All round tidy Ute. 4:Best 4wd- Best fitted out 4wd for genuine 4wd off roading (winch, fridge, first aid kit, bull bar, spotlights, roof racks etc) 5:Best tradies/purpose built-Best fitted out for work; custom toolboxes, signage, full ladder racks, tools for job etc. 6:Most Practical ute: Best home handyman ute. Possibly with ladder racks and toolboxes. Ute must not be involved in business (except perhaps farming) so have no signwriting etc. 7:Best Country/B&S Chicks Ute: Ute showing evidence of a females touch (proof of registration may be asked for) within the judging parameters for best Country/B&S. 8:Best Chicks Street: Ute showing evidence of a females touch (proof of registration may be asked for) within the judging parameters of Street. 9:Classic: pre 1975 Ute either restored to original or still original. 10:Best Jap: Speaks for itself 11:Best Ford: Speaks for itself 12:Best Holden: Speaks for itself 13:Peoples choice: As voted on the day 14:Kids choice: As voted on the day 15:Best Feral: Roughest most beat up Ute. This will be judged by an officer of the law and will be his/her Ute of choice. May come back to roadworthiness. 18:Most Trucked up: The closest a Ute can get to be being a truck without actually being a truck. Exhaust stacks etc a definite advantage. 19:Loudest Stereo: This will be measured according to Australian Standards with the music to be supplied by orginisers 20:Loudest Exhaust, 4, 6 & 8: Measured according to Australian Standards. Contact: Brad Semler (08) 87521443 bjsem1@dodo.com.au Plenty of prizes, trophies and ribbons. Rep Power: 2 ![]() | Re: Moot Yang Gunya Festival Ute Show 2009 Here's an update on the prize list: A $500 dollar toolbox, donated by Drews Workshop Supplies in Naracoorte 2nights for 2 people at the Dukes Motor Inn in Bordertown 2nights for 2 people at the Robetown Motor Inn $200 worth of detailing gear from Dream Machines (Thanks Matt!!! )$200 worth of wine and Beer paraphenalia (including a dozen bottles of Penfolds finest )from Fosters Wine Estates, Bordertown2* full cut and polish from KZs Kars and Fergusons Paint and Panel (1 each) and just for the girls ![]() $100 voucher at Face Place in Bordertown (Hairdressers etc) $50 voucher at Flame Boutique in Bordertown who specialise in(but are not limited to) lingerie so girls get them utes (and you fellas should encourage them too )in here!!!! ![]() Theres plenty more prizes, including Gitsham Jackets, fuel vouchers, car parts, Ford, Holden and Jap paraphanalia, BBQs and heaps more!!!! ![]() Also the entry fee has been changed: Due to the extras that are in the registration pack and the number of catagories the price has changed. there are two options: 1) $10 entry. This gets entry to the ute muster for one catagory of choice plus relevant encouragement award (street or B&S), kids and peoples choice and the rego pack. Any other catagory after this is $5. 2)$20 entry. This gets entry to 6 catagories plus relevant encouragement award (street or B&S) kids and peoples choice and the rego pack. Any catagory after this is $5. This change only recently come about due to an extra being added to the pack and sheer cost for the entrants. I worked out that for me to enter all the applicable catagories (if I could) would be over $50 so we came up with this idea. Will update on camping options and actual entry fee to the festival when I have this info. I will be in the crowd at Deni so if you spot me (or my ute) make yourself known. By then I will have the flyers done, with more details.
