| SA Ute Club The SA Ute Club is a group of like-minded ute owners with members from South Australia, New South Wales, Victoria, Northern Territory and Queensland. The reason that the club attracts many members away from the base of activities in Adelaide is simple, the members are friendly, more than happy to help each other and are genuinely interested in all different types of utes. There is a wide variety of our tray backed vehicles at all club events, from the latest, “don’t even think about a dirt road” street ute through 4x4 outback monsters to the stickered, spotlighted and stubbie cooler holding “get me a rum and coke” B&S machines. The fact that all owners can share their similarities and differences in club events is testament to the relaxed atmosphere that is now part of the club’s culture. If you think that this approach would result in a club that is low on events, then think again. The club calendar is always full with attendance at Ute musters, club cruises, club social events, fundraisers and general meetings averaging once a fortnight. Keeping all members up to date with club information is important for an organization with such a wide geographical member base. The club newsletter is produced monthly and features general articles, event reports, sponsor information and a “Ute of the Month” where all members get to showcase their pride and joy. For those members with Internet access the club web site www.sauteclub.com contains all the newsletter information and more with an up to date calendar, meeting reports, committee contacts, event reports, an ever-growing photo gallery and recently their own discussion forum. The club has made provision on the forum for the public to view and post regarding events and even post their own club information if they wish. Recent club events have attracted an ever growing number of participants with cruises to Broken Hill over a long weekend and to Freeling for dinner at the Gungellan Hotel. The popularity is at a level where parking has become a much sort after commodity at the destination. Members of the club are invited to attend as many events as they wish and participate generally in the club as much as is possible or desirable. With the wide range of events on offer missing one or two doesn’t put you out of contact for long. Events are planned in advance and notified to members via the newsletter and website with contacts provided in case of any questions. New members are always welcome to add to the approximately 200 that are currently active. The club also encourages you to come along and have a look at the meetings and events before deciding to join. A large range of club merchandise is available for purchase so that you can look the part when out in your ute with the club or in a convoy of one! Enquiries can be made by contacting any member of the committee on the numbers shown on the website, sending an email to enquiries@sauteclub.com or phoning the Club President, Matt Sutton on 0402 254 961. | |
