Ute Show Judging - Page 4

exactly ash we dont pay money to enter not to be judged fairly,, and yes a lot go to drink and catch up with mates as i do to, but lots do that without actually entering there utes in the show, just park it and party aswell. i have been to shows where there has been around fifty utes but only twenty or so entrants. cheers rick.

hey there Rockabilly Cowgirl, just looking at this thread and come across these comments. that chick who happened to take chicks at deni is my partner, and i spose that makes me the apparent bad smell at judging time. i stand behined sheree at shows because when your in a relationship you do things together and give each other support. and at what point did the shows become people shows and not ute shows. her ute is her pride and joy just like yours and TOGETHER WE have built her the ute that she wanted. so i don't think you little comments are needed.

hey trashman, well at the end of the day the judge should only be judging the ute and not the owner. you see a lot of other people bringing mate/relos utes to shows and good on em, it just shows the owner has pride in thier ute.

just another point if you take the placeing/ trophies and prizes away would people to show up to support these events? we go to a few days just to get the ute out and for people to see. there is no compitition just like minded people having a nice day out, i don't see many ppl from the shows at these events.

Maybe certain events need to be advertised more.....i'm always hearing about events after they happen! pisses me off cause it means i missed out on the fun!

Hey guys!
My opinion is that a National (or at least state) ute show committee should be formed and the judging criterea for each catergory would be decided, which would apply to all ute shows. Within this body- a points system could also be initiated and could even form the qualifiying criterea for the 'cream of the crop' type shows like Deni. That way each state would be represented by the best of the best. I know it would be an arduous task but it would save a LOT of the political crap that goes on. People would be aware of the criterea and therefore can make better judgements about what categories they are best to enter and what sorts of modifications they should aim towards if they have the glint of trophies in their sights.

If such an organisation was to be initiated at state level- I reakon an executive committee of 15 people and a general committee (who also vote and put forward motions) up to 50.

Just an idea I've had for a wee while....don't know how well it would be received....
