Just finished watching Ian Thorpe's media Interview regarding quitting from swimming.

I know this is a major 'stereotype'.... But the way he was talking, acting, movements etc makes me wonder..... Is Ian Thorpe Gay?? I've met a lot of gay guys in my time, and nearly all seem to be 'unique' in their movements, hand actions, voice etc.

So....... What do you reckon?

Is he possibly gay?
Or just plain 'metrosexual?'.......

Well he wore a pearl mask to a maskerade ball and looked like he's stepped straight out of the Mardigras so i reckon hes more intune with his "fenimine" side than your average aussie fella

When it all comes down to it, does it really matter? He is one of the greatest Australian/ International swimmers we have ever seen. The man is a athletic freak. But sexuality doesnt play a part in whether we like someone or admire someone unless you're a biggot/ homophobe. Think of how many famous or influencial people we presume or quiery their sexuality, not everyone is open to advertising to the world they are gay, just like straight people dont feel they have to announce it to the world beause "it isnt a big deal"

Yeah Nat, point made and agreed. But when it comes down to opinions and rumours, that's why we love this site so much!

And yes, although it doesn't matter and what celebs and sportspeople do outside their profession shouldn't matter to us one little bit, I think he's as gay as anyone I've ever come across and he probably just can't get a fella for the following reason: You know what they say about feet, hands and nose sizes - well you'd be terrified if you were his boyfriend, wouldn't you?!
