I had a 5speed 88 xf b4 a truck riped the tail gate off, Know i have a xg 95 auto 4l its going to get an v8 in it soon and that 5speed will be put behind it i hope, i also have a 5 speed au xr6 and i love it the MANUAL, In the city manual all the way.

My old car, the ED Falcon, was a Manual, then my company cars were all Automatics.
The Maloo is a Manual also.
I prefer a manual, but Auto was good when thrashing around the city.

my utes a manual... love it. the only problem is in the city people dont allow for cars and trucks and 4wd's to be manuals and all park right up ur arse at lights and then shit themselves when u might roll back a little when takin off! haha.
i wouldn't buy an auto if i could help it tho... manuals all the way.

i dont mind either way, only good thing bout auto is that it leaves both ya hands free when driving long distances, prefer manual in the city tho...

I prefer auto only cause thats what i was taught to drive in when i was twelve, i learnt how to drive in what is now my ute lol! and it's a good ol column shift lol but i dont care i love it!!
Im terrible in a manual, well little buzz box ones anyway!
So im an auto girl, but i dont mind hopping in our little Hyundai Scoupe, manual and doing a bit of circle work in reverse!!

i only knew how to drive a manual till like 2 months ago when i forced myself to learn how to drive auto, scared the living hell outta me and i kept moving my left foot to put on clutch but got outta that after a while. i prefer having a manual but autos are so bloody easy

I prefer to drive a Manual, But have owned a few auto's in my day, my currant ute has a manual in it. You can down shift an auto and drive one like a manual but you don't have a clutch to worry about. It's harder to find manual cars and utes these days as everyone is going for the auto. But defiantly learn to drive a manual straight up as you can always drive an auto later on in life. I've got friends that learnt in autos and they can't get the whole clutch and accelerate time and ride the clutch to much.
But me I prefer a manual over a auto any day.

Unfortunatly I class myself as autospastic... I have had a few attemps at learning to drive manual but it just results in me losing patience and stalling continuosly.

I will have another crack at it soon just need a crappy car and a paddock.

like i said be4 manual all the way ... BUT for god's sake dont blow a clutch on a VU .. evan a cheepy is $1000+fitting or if you wont some thing thats going to hold up to the hard time your going to give it $1600 + fitting =$2180 and it olny gose up from there !!!!!
V's me mates VU auto fully rebilt and shift kitted + dyno tuneing and ext censers $3200.... gess it pays to have a auto these days ...

yeah manual all the way! autos are way to boring! i first learnt to drive in a manual toyota dina truck and now drive a hilux.. the only car i had that was auto was a ford laser paddock bomb that didnt last long cos we stuffed the trans when jumpin it! and manuals save fuel cos they dont hold to revs as long

iv learnt to drive in a manual Landcruiser, bit of fun, never had the chance to drive a light manual, but the XH is an auto, and is still alot of fun, altho i wouldnt mind dropin a manual into it
