Manuals all the way! I was bought up in manuals, i first started driving a manual when i was 10, my hq is manual dads hilux is manual but mums camry is auto, id rather control and note over convenience (and being bored).

Well living in Sydney, I love my auto, manual is good in the country and I do enjoy driving manual, but its a pain in a big city. Autos these days are lot better to drive than 20 years ago when I first learnt to drive.

Definatly prefer manual.
I learnt to drive while sittin on dads lap in the cruiser on the farm when i was about 4-5. i remember the first time i drove an auto, i was crappin myself coz i thought it was gonna be hard, and i didnt know how to drive one! lucky it was my mates paddock basher so it didnt matter when i backed off around a corner, no engine brakes so i ran into a blackboy. my utes a manual, i reckon u need it to be to get a decent note out of it...

Love my manuals but I tell u wot them sequential gearboxes are top fun. Best thing bout manuals are they are easy to rollstart!

Learnt to drive in a landrover defender bit of a challange but manuals all the way all my cars have been manuals and wouldn't change to an auto.

Go the auto when your driven an 18 speed all day you dont want to do another 5 or 6 gears of a night or weekend.

yea my old man has been drivin trucks for 30 odd years and says now that he cant be bothered with manuals when hes at home, so his utes an auto

Manual, manual, manual. Auto's are good for city driving, but other that that they are so goddamn boring. I feel in more control if its a manual as well.

I have been driving for nearly 24years, I have a manual licence and sometimes move some of the Rn's manal cars, but with my dodgy left leg[broke it in'77], until 5 years ago I always had a manual car/ute, but now I have an Auto Ute; there is no way I'll go back to manual.

I've got three cars... and while I love the manuals for the more serious performance driving I do in my other cars - I gotta say I love the VS ute being auto ... so nice for those lazy days esp when going to and from work!

My preference is definately manuals (as is my ute),
though when towing heavy loads autos are definately the way to go.

I live in Albany also referred to as the roundabout city. Ever since i have had my licence i have had auto vehicles. Dad reckons "its better on the vehicle to have auto around the city" I dont mind auto but when i get my ute its going to be a 6 spees manual and i cannont wait. Manual always add that bit more adventure to driving haha and it doesnt feel quite as lazy as an auto.

Manual's ROCK!!!

Bit hypicritical because my XR8 is and Auto but i do have two valid reasons...

1. It' is a mint vehicle- see pics

(i love my ute) and it's my boss' old car (before he got the BA XR8) so i know it was looked after..

2. Netball has screwed my knees and giving up sport and driving a manual is better than getting both knees reconstructed!!

But there is hope...
Next year i'm trading up to a BF XR8 (if all goes to plan) and i'm not going auto this time

I figure the pain is worth the sound of the manual gear changed rumbling V8 (i know what i mean lol) and the look on the guy driving the jap car's face at the traffic lights next to me when i leave him for dead..

GO THE AUSSIE UTE!!!!!
