Shea invited to perform at 2008 CMA Festival (from Country Music Bulletin)

Shea Fisher has been announced as the first Australian act invited to perform at the CMA (Country Music Association) Music Festival in Nashville in June next year.

Shea will perform at the festival’s opening event – the CMA Global Artist Party. This June, the Festival had an aggregate attendance of 191,000.
Commercial Radio Australia will sponsor Shea's trip to Nashville where she will also have the opportunity to perform at other venues and meet with some of Nashville’s best songwriters. Travis Collins and Jake Nickolai have been recipients of this sponsorship in previous years.

As part of the sponsorship, Shea was also invited to perform at Commercial Radio Australia’s New Artist To Radio Showcase at Crown Casino in Melbourne recently. The Showcase featured performances by some of Australia’s most promising artists. Performers are selected by mainstream radio programmers from major radio networks DMG, Austereo and ARN.

Shea performed her hit single Just The Excuse at the showcase and the response was described as "fantastic".

"There is a lot of mainstream media interest in Shea and her performance at the Showcase has resulted in some further airplay for Just The Excuse on regional pop radio," said Tim Holland, Country Music Label Manager at ABC. "Shea is already proving to be a great ambassador for country music."
Just The Excuse topped the CMC (Country Music Channel) Top 30 Countdown.

Shea's second single – Cowgirl In My Jeans – is at country radio now and the track’s new live-recorded clip will air on CMC shortly.
