Gday Members,

Well today finally, I went to K9 Dog Rescue near Mandurah to Sponsor a Dog for a Year!

Hi,
My name is Nimrod!
I am a Blue Heeler X
I am Approximately 18 Months Old and I came to K9 06 Feb 2006

A quick word from Nimrod!

Without your help, myself and many of my friends wouldn't be given a second chance at a happy life.

Here's a little information about me.

Brief History

I came into K9 Dog Rescue from the pound, the rangers there thought I was such a lovely dog and did not want to see me put to sleep, luckily K9 Dog Rescue had room to take me in until I find a real family to take care of me.

Medical Problems & Behavioral Problems

Nimrod has passed his vet check and he does not display any obvious behavior problems

Addition Information

This gorgeous boy has such an affectionate nature and he gets along well with his kennel mate, he has a very laid back personality and just wants to be around people.
Nimrod would be ideally suited to a home where he will get plenty of exercise as he is a working dog breed, plenty of mental stimulation is also essential as they are highly intelligent and can become bored easily.
Nimrod is a Doll!

Anyhow, we now have Nimrod a Blue Heeler who is 2 Years Old. Nimrod was rescued from a Dog pound by K9 Dog Rescue, so they saved his life from being put down!

A big thank you to all members who have contributed to the site in buying stickers, buying the raffle tickets on Australia Day and also the people who have donated to the site!

This is where some of the money goes, other than towards the site it also goes charitable causes!

To sponsor Nimrod it cost $260 for the year, it has been paid in full today!

I do not keep him, the money goes towards Nimrods care and the other dogs care, once an owner is found for Nimrod, then they give us another dog to sponsor!

So does he stay at the centre there or do you get to take him home?
I'm thinking of adopting a horse through Horse Rescue... You pay a once off cost, take it home to your place, but the horse still technically belongs to the horse rescue place.

I wanna get a heeler / cattle / collie type dog, but im not allowed to have anything where I am

(PS, if anyones lookin for a pet in NSW come visit the Animal Welfare League lol)

1) IT REALLY DISTURBS ME SEEING BEAUTIFUL DOGS BEING MISTREATED, ILL NEVER KNOW WHY PPL CANT SHOW LOVE OR EVEN EXCEPT RESPONCIBILITY FOR THERE ANIMALS
I REALLY THINK THAT MY PET CHANGED MY LIFE SUCH A ANIMAL WHICH WOULD GREET ME WITH NOTHING BUT LOVE ANYTIME I WALKED IN MY DOOR I GET MY DOG MACDONALDS WHEN I GET IT, I PLAY TENNIS WITH HER
SHE SLEEPS AT THE END OF MY BED AND IS ALLERT WHEN IM ASLEAP IT PROTECTS ME
I THINK THERES TWO TYPES OF PPL PPL WHO LOVE AND PPL WHO H8
I HOPE THAT DOG GOES TO A LOVING FAMBILY EVENTUALLY
BECAUSE OF SPONCERSHIP AND TOUCHES SOMEONES LIFE THE WAY MY ANIMAL TOUCHED MINE

DOGS ARE REAL INTELEGENT ASWEL DONT FORGET BET THERE IS FARMERS ETC OUT THERE WHO GO TO WORK WITH THERE DOG AND FUNCTION AS A IN SEPERABLE TEAM TEAM

this is a great thing to do billy saving a animal it is one nice looking dog i dont konw how anyone can mistreat them when you lookinto their eyes they ake u smile dogs r kewl and my dog goes everywhere with me

No Rhi, we do not keep him, the dog stays at the rescue home, until a good owner can be found. Once an owner is found then they give us another dog to sponsor.

Basically we pay the $260 and it goes towards Nimrod's care and also the other dogs they care for.

he is so lovely, it is unbelievable how people can assume responsibility for an animal, then just decide they arent responsible or whatever and the innocent animal ends up at a pound or worse...it is fortunate there are people that enable it to be possible for these animals to have another chance...well done
