Went shopping today with my dad and was just walking past a lady with a trolly as i went to go past her she turned the trolly and cut right in front of me and ran over my foot whith the wheels with out missin a beat i was a stupid so and so and was pushed out of the way!!!!

i got no sorri or anything.And i couldnt say a word cause i couldnt believe what this 50 something women with 2 kids in the trolly had said to me.

Which got me fumin where the hell has all the manners gone in this bloody place. Like sorry and thank you and excuse me.

Ok i feel a bit better now.

I think manners are becoming a thing of the past . i have had the same thing happen to me in canberra but unlike you DP i could not hold my tongue , I unleashed on her .
the main thing that came to mind at that point was ... If my three children did that to you , You would be tearing stips of me ,
hey excuse me HAVING A FEW MNNERS CAN NOT HURT you .
Is something else i said to her .......

i woulda give her a servin no worries, manners arnt much about nowadays when i was a kid i still am inside :P we got a smack on the bum if we spoke back and the other week me and me mate were walkin through a primary school to pick me sister up from school and the kids swear at ya and everythin its unbeleiveable

I'm a firey bitch when it comes to manners and stuff, I always say thanks mate no matter who it is or what they've done, I might not say please but I ALWAYS say thanks. If someone pushes in front of me I give em a rev up about pushing in, something along the lines of nah no worries mate, I wasnt waiting or anything, I love being pushed infront of. Either they're polite enough to acknowledge they pushed in fron and let u in or they ignore ya so ya have a go a little lowder.

It seems in this day and age you dont have to say Please,Thankyou or excuse me.There are a lot of kids out there today who dont have any parental control,they do what they want,say what they want and lookout if you get in there way.Thank you for reading this.

I used to work in a child care i was the assistant director(i got out kids are doin my head in) and come meal time i would say about 3 kids would say thank you with out being told what to say and they werent little kids they were goin to school this year.....

As for when i was a kid i wouldnt have got shit if i didnt say please or thank you or excuse me! Them little emo things are bad for it in beauie i have ripped it up a few but that lady yesterday was just shockin....

my niece is 6. she missed out on a biscuit today because she didnt say please. she ran up and yells "give me a biscuit".
not a chance here kido. she whinged so i told her to go away and think why she wasnt getting one.

Don't blame the kids, blame the parents!
I have got it drilled into my 2yo daughter's head to say please, thankyou, pardon me etc. It's all just a habit thing I guess. Now she doesn't need reminding very often and it amazes me how many people are surprised when she says thankyou or please to them! It should be normal!

i believe your right milfy. now i think of it the parents are the same. the sisterinlaw just rang up and goes " i need a lift to wyong by 245 to get a train to gosford" my reply was so what! get a taxi.

this kinda reminds me of a funny story ... for the last 10 years iv gone to the bank every week to do my banking for my bis so im standing there for a bit whill the teller dose there thing ... now the way i have it set up i just need to stand there whill they do there thing and iv been going so long they all know wat to do with out me saying a word ..

so im stading there and my phone rings and it's a kinda inportant call so i take it and im standing there at the teller chatting away whill the teller dose there thing ( ie im not holding any one up ) i walk out and as i do a 80+ something hunched over white heird zimer framed bound lady walks out behind me so i hold the door for her .. as she shimmers past she mutters how rude i was holding every one up cos i was on the phone and wat a ars i was ... ???? wat the F*&%K ??? i wasnt holding any one up ... so with out realy thinking i yeld back at her

I was doing my F*&^ING bisness banking that why i was there for 10 min and i wasnt hoilding any one up being on the phone SO YOU CAN GO F&^K YA SELF ...

that was all the 50 or so ppl in the mall herd me yelling at the granny so i got a few funny looks and my mate on the other end of the phone just cracked up when i told him it was a granny in a zimmer frame ...

im of the frame of mind have a go at me if iv done some thing wrong but if i havent bugga off !!!
im also been brought up with the please and thankyou holding doors open for ppl and respecting wimon but it would seem that a lot of ppl are not being drought up with it these days ...

I have found that the real old farts in their motorized carts are really bad. They don't give a stuff if you are in the way. It's I'm coming through so get out of the way. I have told a couple of them to watch where they are going only to be looked at like a piece of crap.
And I have been teach my little granddaughter manners so she will go further than some other kids she knows. So she isn't the one demanding the biscuts, she will ask then say thank you.
And we are teaching her to call close friends Uncle and Aunty like in the old day where there was respect. I hope we are doing the right thing here. Only time will tell.
