Rep Power: 7 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | DENI 4WD CIRCLE WORK LAST YEAR AT DENI 4WD UTES WHERE NOT ALOWED TO ENTER THE CIRCLE WORK COMP. I WAS TOLD ITS BECUSE THEY ARE MORE LIKELY TO ROLL...? YOU CAN BUY A 2 OR 4 WHEELE DRIVE HILUX OR RODEO THAT HAVE THE SAME SUSPENTION AND CLEARANCE, ALSO YOU CAN RASE ANY UTE.... AND ROLL ANY UTE, WITH POOR SUSPENTION OR AN INEXPERIANCED DRIVER..... OUR CLUB REGUARLY RUNS CIRCLE WORK COMPS AND 4WD'S ARE ALOWED TO ENTER, WITH THE RIGHT CONDITIONS THEY ARE VERY CHALLANGING AND EXTREAMLY ENTERTANING TO WATCH... WE HAVE RUN SEVERAL CIRCLE WORK COMPS SINCE DENI ALL INCEDENT FREE.DARGO AT EASTER SHOWED HOW COMPETITIVE 4WDS CAN BE WITH A WHITE GU NISSAN MAKING IT LOOK VERY EAZY, PULLING THE GREATEST NUMBER OF CIRCLES AND FIGER 8'S. SOME 4WD'S ARE PERPOSLY BUILT FOR CIRCLE WORK CUSE ITS WHAT THEY DO AND LOVE IN AUSTRALIA THE UTE PULL (TUG OF WAR) IS VERY HARD ON UTES, MOST OF THE TIME ENDS WITH BRAKAGE THE LAST THING YOU NEED WITH MANY OF US A LONG WAY FROM HOME ALSO DRIVERS COULD/SHOULD WEAR HELMATS OR HAVE ROLL CAGES........ WHAT DO YOU THINK ? |

Rep Power: 5 ![]() | Re: DENI 4WD CIRCLE WORK No sorry dont agree.. Chuck ya 4x4s in a mud pit and race or see who gets further in progresive degree of depth and boggines or have a incline in the mud . You can have a suspention chalenge getting over logs at an angle or logs at an angle in the mud to articulate your 4x4 . Use the things for what they are intended for not circle work !!!

Rep Power: 1 ![]() | Re: DENI 4WD CIRCLE WORK This could be fun I will enter the ute pull just pick what one of my veichles you want to be pulled with and I will try and rip you in half. Though I do very much agree with bull bar. Pic of one of my mates monster trucks with a bit of suspension articulation happening and not even trying.

Rep Power: 3 ![]() | Re: DENI 4WD CIRCLE WORK tmackggirl at the ute muster there is big arse fences like at aspeedway and the people are a fair distance from the arena so its perfectly safe and i reckon circle work is great there.. everybody watches it, and everybody loves it.. and all vehicles should be aloud to enter, if one is gunna roll or whatever, then its gunna happen, doesnt matter if its a 4by or commy.

I reckon they should be allowed to enter C/W comps, but only if there have been no suspension mods. Once a 4by has had its springs raised, it should no longer be allowed. It then becomes to easy for the driver to roll. Cheers John ![]()

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Re: DENI 4WD CIRCLE WORK I agree wtih CATMAN here. 4x4 SHOULD be allowed to enter - HOWEVER there are some issues that are related to such things. Yes they are more likely to roll and as such insurence is going to be much MUCH more to legaly run such a competition. If you remember last year there were rumours (THANKFULLY UNFOUNDED RUMOURS) that Deni was no longer going to be held becasue of the insurence costs. This was not the case and as you all know Deni is on again this year - however the ticket price has increase 25%. becasue of insurence. Its a bitch and I wish the world wasnt like this but have such a large amount of people in a small place with thousands of vehicles is a nightmare to provide the appropriate level of "care" associated with "duty of care" laws. This is then reflected on the 4x4 circle work comp not being allowed due to their "percieved danger" in the eyes of the company. A company that doesnt know how much 4x4 owners love their cars and that they would never drive them to the point of rolling infront of 1000's of people! |

Rep Power: 7 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: DENI 4WD CIRCLE WORK THERE ARE SOME GOOD POINTS BEING MADE HERE. IN A 4WD CLUB THERE EVENTS ARE WINCH CHALANGES, NAV NIGHTS, THERE DRIVING EVENTS ARE BASED ON ABILITY AND SKILLS RELATED TO 4WDS. MENY OF THE VEHICLES ARE STATIONWAGONS AND SEDANS ( WHICH ARE VERY TOP HEAVY COMPARED TO A UTE) GOT A UTE ALL MY MATES HAVE UTES 4WD/2WD THATS WHAT WE SHARE INCOMMON..... CIRCLE WORK BRINGS US TOGETHER BECUSE WE ALL CAN DO IT TOGETHER.... MENY OF US WITH 4WD UTES DESIGN THEM FOR UTE SHOWS, CAMPING AND CIRCLE WORK, RATHER THAN 4WD COMPETION REVATED EVENTS.... MENY OF THE 2WD RURAL UTES PUT ON MUDDIES AND RAISE THERE UTES LIKE THE FORD RTV WHICH HAS A SUSPENSION LIFT SAME AS THE LONGREACH WHICH IS FATORY..... NONE OF US WANT TO SEE OUR MATES GET HURT OR WRECK THERE UTES. HAS ANYONE SEEN A 4WD UTE ROLLED AT A CIRCLE WORK EVENT ? |

Rep Power: 5 ![]() | Re: DENI 4WD CIRCLE WORK Yes mate I heve seen a Hilux rolled and at Deni a few years back on the Conargo side between the channel and ute paddock they got around or through the check bank and big hole dug to keep people out of there ,Done a circle and fell on its roof . Im sure ya gunna say but it was uncontrolled and its his own fault or the ground wasn't prepared or it had suspention mods but really their centre of gravity is higher than a RTV or longreach or 2x4 hilux or rodeo in standard configeration. Why not look at mud challenges with the 4x4s or obsticles or articulation comps ???

Rep Power: 1 ![]() | Re: DENI 4WD CIRCLE WORK It appears tp be a fifty fifty on whether it would or would not be safe. If a four wheel drive can't then I guess that a cheverolet silverado shouldn't try t do circle work.

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Re: DENI 4WD CIRCLE WORK what about the monster trucks they do circles(MAD BEAR) OK so they do roll some times but that happens in life. I have seen 2wd utes aud cars rolled tring to do circles. Each time it was due to driver error and trying to do them in the wrong conditions. What about those of us that enter or 2wd ute with 4wd type tires on them. And waht about those of us that have our 4wd set up right and can manage circles while in 4WD BOTH IN FORWARD & REVERSE |

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Re: DENI 4WD CIRCLE WORK well l think that it should be only 2 wheel vehicle's only! l think yeah you can still roll a ute but yeah 4X4 can and will roll so much easier than a ute doing circle work , if this was to be at the Deni Ute Muster they would have to have Rollbar's inside their cabins, stonger seat belts, helmets should be worn that would be the only way to do it, you would have to have ambulance cover also ! there's alot to look into about safety at these public avents!! |
