I do agree its not a cheap weekend unless you know how to budget for it, it also depends on where you are travelling from at the time as well.

Every year i have been i have thouroughly enjoyed myself, i have met so many ppl at Deni and continue to keep in contact with them as well.

It is an experience if yopu have never been, it is pretty much a 3 day drink fest.

I reccomend it to anyone who hasnt been. If you dont like it thenyou know not to go next year, but its the one weekend in any year i have always looked forward to, have only missed 3 now...

So save your money and get there i say, ul either like it or not!!

I went to the very first one when there was about 37 utes, it was on landline ABC years ago, my old ute was on the tv, went till 2003 then never been again, got to commercialised and to many city people hamming it up saying that they were country and making an actual country person look bad.
You usually can pick them, brand new everything and low profile rims are a dead give away.

Sorry, but till it gets back to the old way, i wont be going again.

I have to agree, the first 2 years were the best ever as the weekend was about the ute and ute culture and the committee was volunteers. Now the committee are paid and they are trying to make it a family event and just forgot all about why it was started (remember only my opinion). The first few years was like $10 to go into the muster site then extra to go into the rest (entertainment etc) and then one year they made it all in one so you couldn't just pay $10 to sit with your mates and have a drink, you had to pay $60 to do that... And now it has almost doubled and what extra do you get?

I have been hearing from ppl that have attended this year and from what they are saying, they had had enough friday night.

They just didnt feel it so to speak, it it far too commercialised, it does cost way too much, and i know it contradicts some thing s i have said but in a way when i dont get to see a lot o mates during the year it was the easiest way to meet up and have a few drinks again.

Unsure if i will go next year if it is on, i know there has been talk about canning the whole event, the pin was almost pulled for this years muster due to lack of interest.. (and that was the committee)

Well as long as everyone enjoys what they do when they do then continue to do it iguess.

i got back from deni last night and i'd say it was pretty good fun, it was pretty feral, some guys tried to throw me in the mud within the first few hours, the music was awesome this year!!!

okay i like to have my say.i reckon it was bloody terrific.well us old blokes might like it more, but where i was camp and have seen the young ones had a great time too.as well i had a few people say where else can you have so much interment for $120 ,mine you ive tot cost me only full tank of fuel to get there,as i said it's bloody triffiic,i don't have many Friends at deni but i just like to see people have fun....p.s.iam on a dissabilty pension so i have to save very hard and go without things just to go to deni...

Rick, I spent $22 on food, $34 on drinks, $11 on merchandise and $63 on gas and had one of the best times of my life... an absolute ripper. Having said that I did not pay for my ticket, but even if I did I still would have been able to do a four day trip away from home on a budget of under $250.

Are you for real? You can not get that much entertainment value ANYWHERE for $120. Not only that, they had more utes and more people through the gate than ever before...

hey guys, new member here. I had my first deni experience, manly because ive only just bought my first hilux 4x4 and thought it would grouse to go and check out the utes. being brought up in the city but spending alot of my time in the country on holidays, i thoroughly enjoyed everything about it. Was good to be in a different atmosphere and drink bundy and listen to lee! Im now hooked and planning on stickering up my car and doing all the gear, and attending B&S balls, and ill be back at deni for 09!
