hey looking to going to deni thurs deni starts on the fri. wondering if anyone is leaving then? and where do you stay on the thurs nite?

Allo!!!
We're travelling over on Thursday as per usual. We will most likely meet at Tailem Bend then take it cruisy on the way over, fast as the slowest ute etc.
Stay in Deni Thursday night and usually don't party on too much. That's rest night before the weekend begins in earnest.
You're quite welcome to tag along with us if you like. Not sure how many are making the Thursday convoy this year but keep an eye out on the site and I'll post up more info when it gets closer.

I think from memory the trips about 9 hours, depending on stops etc. Normally cruise pretty steadily.

9 hours!!?? Are you going via Melbourne or something :P Usually 7 hours for me, max, that's sitting on the limit and I have to go an extra 100kms. Have done it in 6.

At this stage I'm heading over on my own, get there quicker that way, not having to stop for everyone every 50kms.

Well according to "whereis.com" it is
786km or 8 hours 35 minutes from Wynn Vale to Deni via Mildura / Hay and
763km or 9 hours 52 minutes via Swan hill / Echuca

Kiz, its 112km from my joint to Tailem Bend so to do it in 6 hours without stops, my average speed would be nearly 130km/hr and I dont thing the cops would like that! LoL

There was nothing wrong with the Wanbi pub... plus you got to do all that dirt road driving... what more could you ask for?????

9hrs? Sloooooooooow! Travel a lot to that neck of the world. Sitting on around 115kmh in SA and speed limit in Vic and same sort of margins in NSW, it takes about 7hrs tops from centre of Adelaide. Thats stopping for fuel only mind you. 9hrs should have me in wagga! Hopefully 10hrs will have me in Wagga via Horsham tomorrow!!!!

The pubs do cause some slight delays....unfortunately! *evil chuckle*

Theres a few of us leaving from Bordertown on Thursday afternoon. Gotta go via Horsham but after that who knows. Don't particularily care where we make it to on Thursday night but are just gunna cruise sedately and sleep where we sleep. If anybody wants to travel with us PM me.

I reckon half the fun is travelling over there with a heap of other utes.

I know it's an old thread but seeing as though I didn't dig it up I'll let ya's know that I'm leaving from Mount Barker at 4.30pm Thursday heading straight through to Deni via the mallee (Pinnaroo, Oyen etc), Swan Hill and then to Echuca with the with the hope of catching the 'Lights on Convoy', and should be in Deni about 2 - 2.30am Friday. Swaggin it when we get there (wherever the swags land), and hopefully getting to the gates earlyish. If anyone want's to join me I'll be on UHF 40 and AM CB channel 8. I'll only be doing a dollar or so and I'll be stopping for the occasional coffee break etc.

If ya keen you can PM me, otherwise It'll just be me and the missus.

leaven chop and chers house at murray bridge at 10am sharpe, going throw malle to tooleybuc then mallamain on to deni 4 a pit stop, go to conargo pub 4 nite ,swag it, then back to deni 4 w/end pm if eny q or facebook full details,
