A Pets Prayer! Please read if you own a Pet!

Treat me kindly my beloved master, for no heart in all the world is more gratefull for kindness than mine.

Do no break my spirit with a stick, although I should lick your hand between blows, your patience and understanding will teach me more quickly the things you would have me do.

Speak to me often, for your voice is the worlds sweetest music, as you must know by the fierce wagging of my tail when I hear your step.

When the weather is cold and wet, please take me inside, for I am a domesticated animal, no longer used to the bitter elements, and I ask no greater glory than the privilege of sitting at your feet.

Keep my pan filled with fresh water, although I should not reproach you if it were dry, I cannot tell you when I suffer thirst.

Feed me clean food that I may stay well, and play and do your bidding, to walk by your side, standing ready to protect you with my life should your life be in danger..

And Master, when I am very old, if the Greatest master seems fit to deprive me of my health and sight, do not turn me away... rather, see that my trusting life is gently taken, and I shall leave you knowing that with my last breath I draw, my fate was always safest in your hands.

A beautiful poem given to me when I sponsored our BeautUtes.com Members Dog Nimrod, ... nearly bought tears to my eyes as I wrote it, I got that lump in my throat!

Please read it and take heed that all pets are the most faithfull things in the world, they do not discriminate the way you look, the colour you may be, and all the other things we being human beings are.

I got given this poem the other day, from our vet....
we just lost our best mate, Baxter after 12 years.
The last paragraph brings me to tears.

It's true...DON'T take them for granted...EVER.

10 COMMANDMENTS FOR A RESONSIBLE PET OWNER (AS TOLD FROM A PET'S PERSPECTIVE) 1) My life's likely to last 10 to 15 years. Any seperation from ypu will be very painful. 2) Give me time to understand what you want from me. 3) Place your trust in me it is crucial for my well-being. 4) Don't be angry with me for long, and don't lock me up as punishment. You have your work, your friends, your entertainment. I only have you! 5) Talk to me. Even if I don't understand your voice when it is speaking to me. 6) Be aware that however you treat me, I'll never forget it. 7) Before you hit me, remember that I have teeth that could easily crush the bones in your hand, but I choose not to bite you. 8) Before you scold me for being lazy or unco-operative, ask yourself if something might be bothering me. Perhaps I am not getting the right food, I've been out in the sun too long, or my heart may be getting old and weak. 9) Take care of me when I get old. You too will grow old. 10) Go with me on different journeys. Never say, " I can't bear to watch it', let it happen in my absence", Everything is easier for me if you are there. REMEMBER, I LOVE YOU
