As some of you would know, my daughter Sharnae has CHD. She has had 4 open heart surgeries.
So you can imagine that this charity is something that is very close to my heart, not only for the research & valuable equipment they are able to provide to help my little girl,
But also for the support they have shown our family over the past two years, I honestly don’t know what we would of done without them!!

Did you Know:
Congenital Heart Disease is the most common birth defect
6 babies are born each day in Australia with CHD
75% of Heart Kids live in regional or Remote area’s

!The facts speak for themselves!

1 in 100 children are born with a Congenital Heart Defect (CHD)
Every 3 & ½ hours a child is born with a serious heart defect
2015 Babies a year are born with CHD
It is the no.1 reason for child death (accounting for 35% of all deaths)
It is the no. 1 birth abnormality in Australia
It can never be completely ’cured’.
Bacterial endocarditis, a life-threatening & sometimes fatal condition can strike our HeartKids.
Heart defects range from a hole in the heart to a complex combination of conditions.
Sadly some defects cannot be repaired

“Our Mission: To provide non medical support, understanding and information to enhance the personal well being and self confidence of children and young adults with congenital / acquired heart disease.

To include within the group the families of children who have died as a result of a heart condition.
To provide services and resources through fundraising activities that will be of direct benefit to heart children and their families.
To raise funds for paediatric cardiac research and equipment.”
