Rep Power: 6    | who wants to own a house ? hi guys and girls who wants to own a house ? i would like to own one but to be honest cant see it happening somehow im 30 and dont have a stable job banks wouldnt lend me $10'000 for a ute so i saved for a ute so i doubt thetd lend me the dollars to buy a house not with my bad credit rating anyway

GDay Ron it's actually easier to get a loan for a house properties don't actually depreciate like vehicles, we bought our first house only 5 years ago and we realy had a shitty credit rating can you show that your rent has been all paid for cause the banks will ask for that you have also got first home buyers grant which helps , rent is dead money go and talk to your bank mate

Rep Power: 2 | Re: who wants to own a house ? If you go into buying a house get fixed interest. Saves you paying more and more as the rate rise. We just redone ours before Xmas and then there was an increase. So we saved ourselves now as it looks like they will be on the rise a few more times and don't look like falling for a while. |

My next door neighbour paid over 100k more for practically the same thing 2 years later. Lucky me. But yeah, Im wishing that I had locked my rates in 2 years ago. The news tonight was not good for the new year and rates going up again. GRR, so over banks and their greed. It is most certainly best to buy property before you buy a vehicle. Banks only like cars first if you own them outright before you go for a mortgage. |

Rep Power: 5 | Re: who wants to own a house ? I'd be speakiing to a mortgage broker. Ours was worth his weight in gold, and did everything he could to get the best loan for us. There were times that I thought it wouldn't happen - we didn't have savings - but don't lose hope! I'm happy now though that we bought something really small and simple, that we could add value to. I think there is a real problem of everyone wanting it all for their first home, and it just isn't practical.

Me and my partner are renting at the moment and saving every spare cent we have towards our first home...I own my Ute outright, and he has a little stash of cash so that he can buy his car when he gets his licence back.... We are planning on building our own house and getting exactly what we want.... The way we look at it is that the home loan is gunna take years and years to pay off and we dont want to be buying the house we really want when we turn 40 or 50...so we have decided that we are going to get what we want in the first place...Some of you may disagree but thats the way we see things...and hopefully we will have a healthy deposit by the end of the year!

I'm looking at the market to see what's there. I have no savings what so ever (maybe about $500 - xmas did me over big time this year!). Fingers crossed!
