I bought my Mum a beautiful cat from here! If you are in WA and need a nice cat ... rescue one there! Quote:
Hi everyone
You cared enough to come to Cat Haven and adopt a new cat into your life. As you are maybe aware, we try to do our best for Cat Welfare in Perth, never saying no to any cat or kitten coming through our doors. We get no funding to do this, and have to rely on all our own fundraising endeavours in order to keep our doors open. One way that we do this, is via our annual street-which is little more than a week away - and we are very thin on the ground in the way of collectors.
Street Appeal can appear daunting if you have never done one before. But, honestly, people are really nice! They will stop to donate and tell you what a wonderful job Cat Haven does and how they got the best cat from the Haven.
If you should own a dog as well as a cat, they are great to take along on Street Appeals. They are a great icebreaker……and usually get you an extra 30-50% in donations. If any one asks what a dog is doing collecting for cats, you can always tell them their best friend is a cat!
It doesn’t have to be an all day affair either, even an hour or two on the way to work can really help. We have one lady who is heading to Warwick train station for the second year running. Last year, in less than two hours, she collected close to $150. It was her first time on Street Appeal, and she’s coming back for more this year!
You don’t have to come into the City; our permit covers us for all of the metro area. If you should come into the city, we will also have an information stall in Murray Street Mall/Forrest Chase where you can collect tins from or help us man the stall. We can even put someone out collecting with you, so that you can find your feet while you overcome any worries you have collecting.
If you still aren’t convinced that it’s for you, maybe there’s a chance that you could take a tin into work, college etc. instead of rattling a tin.
Tins can be collected from the Haven at any time or from Muuray Street mall on the day. We can also arrange for tins to be dropped off and collected to save you having to come into the Haven.
If you can help, in any way, big or small, drop me an email or give me a call on 9442 3677 (I won’t be in on Wednesday/Thursday) and we can work something out.
Kind regards
