Question To tell or not to tell!!!

ok i have a question for everyone.
If you knew that one of ur family members like ur cousin was doing stuff underage such as (nite clubs) at 14 wit help of there step sis who is 26 and you know if u tell that they will try and put sh*t on you.

But being a adult now would you or wouldnt you tell thier parents?
Cause im stuck as wat to do n i would like to see wat others would do.

thanks
kat

Re: To tell or not to tell!!!

Hmmm this is a hard one yeh it might be the right thing to tell because nightclubs r no place for a 14 year old and they could get into some real trouble. Maybe talk to them both and make sure that the 26 yr old is lookin out for the 14 year old. If shes not then u kinda have to tell especially if u are really worried about it.
Sorry hope that was of sum help to u.
Goodluck.

Re: To tell or not to tell!!!

Hi Kat
Well in all honesty, that was me 12 years ago. Yeh it's wrong, but you are right, u will probably cop it if u tell, mayb just make sure she isn't gettin herself in2 truble & have a quiet word to her sis.
I told my mum myself when i was doin it & even tho she wasn't happy with the situation, she knew she couldn't stop me, so she just made sure i was careful & that she was always there for me. I never got myself into any major truble. But times are different now, so yeh, i dunno, just tread carefully!!
Cheers

Re: To tell or not to tell!!!

I'd tell. I did everything and anything i wasn't suppose to do when i was underage, but it's a complete different world now. There are way too many things being slipped into drinks these days. I doubt the step sister would listen to reason, after all at 26 you'd think she'd be more responsible to start with.
Yeah i know, I've turned into a Grumpy Old Bat, lol.

Re: To tell or not to tell!!!

This is a toughie...
You would have to look at WHY the 14 year old is wanting to go to clubs and also WHY the 26 year old is letting this happen.
Of course, the first answer is probably teenage rebellion and the 'cool' factor, but why is the older person supporting this behaviour?!
It is always up to the individual to decide wether or not their behaviour will affect others around them and as well as the choice to do the right or wrong thing by the law.
What sort of 'sh!t' will they put on you for doing the right thing?! How do you think the parents of the child will handle this information, because infact the 14 year old is still classified as a minor...

Re: To tell or not to tell!!!

the 26's yr old has a mine of a 14 put it that way. n the 14 yr old wont talk to her mother as much as she use and is turning into a emo which i find easy to belive but this 14 yr old likes to put shit on me wen she knows damn right that i wouldnt be stupid enough to do the things she says i do. I just feel its gonna wreck the relationship between my mum n her family as she knows wats happen as i told her myself knowing damn right its wrong n also giving a 14 yr old alchol n video taping her drunk is WRONG to n thats another thing. so yer i dont know wat to do anymore.

Re: To tell or not to tell!!!

Oh she will hate your guts if you tell, at least for the next 5 or 6 years. Is there a way to tell but not tell, if you know what i mean. Could you get the parents to show up at the same place the kid is or something accidently ?

Re: To tell or not to tell!!!

this 26 yr old has left her 6 yr old her his father whos in vic cause the marriage has slipt n has brought her 2 yr old up to qld but doesnt not look after her 2 yr old wen they came over for a family gathering before my bro left for vic she let the 2 yr old run around n didnt give to sh*t yer i know u cant control a two yr old but u can give it attention which is wat me n my sis did stops them from running around the place n wrecking things.

Put it this way i was talkin to a bloke on the fone who is a mate of mine but i havent met him n my cousin went to my grandmother n told her n then she told my mother i was goin out wit a complete stranger. Yer i can say i have drunk underage but that was yrs ago n she knows that to but the world is different today n so many danerous things are happen in nite clubs i hate goin to nite clubs. soz i just had to let it out

Re: To tell or not to tell!!!

I think one of the most important things here is if she gets caught in the night club. The night club owner and all the staff could be fined or lose their jobs for allowing a minor in.
So I think that you should tell and if it falls on deaf ears next time she is out tell the night club that she is there.
I would hate for someone to lose their livelyhood over someone who has no place being there. And just how would you feel if they did get caught and all this happened.
So I certainly would tell both of them to pull their heads in. Then let the young ones olds know about it. At least you know you have save someones jobs and not taken food from their table because you didn't say a word.
Just my view on it.
