| Holidays that Christianity has stolen from ? I am amazed how people associate certain festivals with christianity and how the religion has taken on these festivals as there own... For example, christmas is a festival of giving, and it is enjoyed in the winter(northern hemisphere), it is winter solstice, the shortest day of the year...usually the 22nd of December.. Easter, (oestara...the goddess of fertility), represented by the rabbit and the egg... It is a festival that is enjoyed in the middle of spring and is about fertility and growth of crops...Feast of plenty... Holloween..(no it is not american either), it is the welcoming home of the spirits of the family, you keep a candle burning in the window....by placing a pumpkin with a face carved into it, with a candle inside, it will keep bad spirits away... These three festivals originate from witchcraft.... How sad that they have been taken.... I think it was originally to keep the masses enjoying there festivals but changing them so they represent what they want...Also the addition of other things to create fear have been included in this religion to control and keep in control the people....for example, witchcraft being associated with the devil...Ummm, witches dont have devils, and the funny bit is when ppl say white witch or black(they are colours...lol...), witchcraft has no evil in it, that is another thing twisted by others...If you do wrong, it will come back to you, same as doing good... Remember the saying "Karma, what goes round comes round"
