| Close calls, and health scares well after taking my best mate to hospital last night, with a suspected heart attack, and sitting around the waiting room all night, with 2 close friends, it got me wondering what health scares and/or close calls have happened to you.... thankfully he will be fine, it was not as serious as first thought, and thank you to our friends that stick by through thick and thin. | |

| Re: Close calls, and health scares well i nearly lost my little brother when i was 4. my brother has espilsey. i only got told this story a couple of months ago by my mum cos i kept remembering that night so mum total me the story. we were in perth one weekend. my brother was only 16 months old. apprently i told mum that sam was shaken again. he was having a seizure. the seizure lasted for 30mins. so we rusted to PMH. the doctors over dosed my brother, they gave him a dose for a 16 years old not a 16 months old. they had to pump his stomach. well everytime my brother has a seizure now, i know why mum looks like she is going to cry.

Lost my brother, cousins, most grandparents etc to cancer, drunk drivers, car accidents... etc. My dad had four heart attacks - the last one he died and they brought him back to life.. then he had to have a quadruple bypass (and was only pretty young). My mum has recently had some close calls too. Not good stuff really. My man's family has been having some cancer scares of late too .. one looks promising for full receovery, one doesn't - and my fella is having a cancer scare of his own now.As for me... I'm pretty good - had a few near death experiences as a child with illnesses - but all good now. Only got a weird heart murmur but all in all I'm ticking along well for the person most likely to be the end of the line as far as my name/clan is concerned.

| Re: Close calls, and health scares I was training a rather hot headed, highly strung horse for a client of mine who had a tendancy to spook easily. A rabbit jumped out from beneath a log and the horse reared up so high he lost his balance on fell on top of me. I was knocked out cold, down for the count! I was a tad dazed and confused when the ambo's arrived and I started to come to! I owe a couple of mates big time for being so quick to my aid. No one could understand how I wasn't crushed or had internal injuries, a sizable headache for a week or so but otherwise very lucky! | |
