BB4, I have always gone for RM Williams Santa Fe's with a cuban heel. very comfortable. Depends on what you will be using them for? I used mine for riding, don't know wether you would want to walk for ages in them though. anyway food for thought, hope this helps

Re: what type of boots whould you recomend

Ultimately it depends on what kinda boot you are after.. dress boots or work boots and then how much you are willing to pay.

RM Williams has always been my number one, but definately not the cheapest option. Comfortable as anything if you get the right ones. I've got the RMW 'Yearling'.
There's a huge range though. Their website can give you a fair idea and I've always found the people in the stores really helpful.

Dont mind Wrangler boots either...

If you are after a cheaper work boot... I still love the good old Blundstones.

Ok, finished ranting now...

Re: what type of boots whould you recomend

here's my speil.........
RMW for sure. i grew up with rossi's. can't wear them anymore, make my feet hurt, had some thomas cook boots for awhile, they were cheaper but didn't last as long, pretty comfortable though.
as the other girls said, it really depends on what you want to wear them for. i have dress boots (stockman's i think) but i hardly ever wear them, i only bought them cos they were on sale.
my other boots i wear all the time. i got gardeners. they have a non-slip sole, which is good for wearing in the kitchen. but i wear them everywhere, the one's i am wearing now are nealry 7 years old i think, and have been re-soled twice. if you're going to do this take them back to RMW and they will do it for you, heaps better than any old shoe repair shop.
i bought another pair a couple of weeks ago. cost me $245 but figure out the maths and they're more than worth it if you wear them all the time.
as jess said, go into the store and ask the people in there for advice, that's what they're there for. the guys over here are great, will do anything for you (even give you discount if you're nice. lol) make sure you treat them well with saddle dressing or something similar and they will last you for years. they will be a long term investment if you buy the good ones.
good luck.

Re: what type of boots whould you recomend

I can't warrant spending $$$hundreds on boots as I wear them really hard. No pair lasts more than a couple of years at a stretch. I usually wear Blundies but got a pair of Rossi's last time as they were on sale, I reckon I should have stuck with Blundies as they were comfier. To ride I picked up a great pair of Dublin's a few months ago with the zip up the front (can't remember what they are called) for $80 and they are soooo comfy, I wear them out too as they are quite dressy (well, they were before I scraped the toes on the pavers! see what I mean)

Re: what type of boots whould you recomend

Thats why i like u D.C. so to the point...

Go for Steel Blues. Very comfortable, dont need to break them in. cost bout $130, but get a receipt and claim on tax. Lovely boots, i wear them for 13 hrs a day and afterwards my feet not hurting at all. Dont forget good socks, like Explorers or something...
