What do you think of the current lean towards banning cigarette smoking in cars?
I'm a smoker,and it really shits me that I'm being told I may not be able to smoke in my car next.
I am a considerate smoker,in that I NEVER smoke inside my own home,and don't smoke around non-smokers.
What are your thoughts??

Personally, it's just the way the worlds going! Can you imagine the amount of cigarette butts that get thrown out of car windows in the world every day? Billions Everyday! Plus the Billions everyday in the streets!

It would be way too hard to enforce in a society like Australia!

well im a smoker myself and i drive for a living, to be honest, how could thay ban people from smoking in there own cars. Plus you look at how many people smoke while there driving , thay cant book everyone for smoking in there own cars if it came to it. i couldnt see it happaning to be honest.

Im not saying it's right to be chucking butts out the window at all....hell no! I'm saying how can any government or police official tell me I can't smoke in my own bloody car??!!
Obviously if I were to have kiddies in the car,it would be a different kettle of fish...but I dont,so what's the problem?

Bloody government...not enough they tax us smokers,now they want to take away our only safe haven....grrrr

I don't smoke in the car with my boy in the back but I think it's my right to smoke in there if he's not!! Is nothing scared anymore?!?

I don't smoke in my vehicle, thats a choice i made. there is no way i would put up with someone TELLING me i can't, maybe when they start paying my rego, insurance and repayments can they start telling me what i can and can't do in my vehicle

Reminds me of my dad, who won't wash his number plate because "Its not mine...I don't own it" Government owns his number plate and wont clean it so he doesn't

just like em bannin mobiles while drivin, hasnt stopped many people cos its so hard to enforce, and heard they are going to put another 10 to 14 percent tax on smokes, i dont smoke but shit you can buy winfield blues duty free for 3.40 a pack and they around 10 in aus what they need more tax on them for!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think i would agree with ya on that one sb. i will smoke in mine but if my nieces or nephews or any kid was in my car i wont. i know what it was like as a young fella and me oldman would smoke in the car i hated it so much it made me unwell a few times!!!
