i think any one that has the guts to help with busgh fires have guts i drove throw where the anakie fires hit and i can tell u it was heart renching to see how much bush was lost but glad that all the boys helped out

I don't mean to poke fun and find amusement in what is a very noble job.....but has anyone else read about the corpse of the diver they found at the top of a burnt out tree (some years ago)? Apparently he had been snorkling or diving in a lake where a water bomber had withdrawn several thousands of litres and he got accidently collected and dumped with the water on the bushfire, ending up in a tree????

Urban myth or tragically true (and mildly humourous)?

Urban Myth i have been a firefighter for 17 years and have work with helicopters and have spoken to piolts that have said it could never happen

On naother note that web site is a US site there are no water boaming planes bar the little ones that are like a crop dusting planes there was a test with the biger types and they found that while they where good planes they would be no good for use in Australia couse one of them all most crashed into the blue Mts there is however a few of the skycranes 2 in VIC and 2 in NSW and 1 in the Act that i know of there could be more as well as i think 1 or 2 other US helicopters

As for hurting when water is droped for one of the choppers to bloody right it dose i have had it happen to me 2 times

Some of the ploits are mad as a cut snake when it comes to flying during opps

The supertankers are converted 747
